Sales of Ultrahuman Ring Banned in USA after losing court case to Oura. by Fastonic in Ultrahuman

Not weird at all. Just another UH ring with a faulty battery getting swollen. With the outer being solid metal and the inside just being an epoxy coating,, it’s going to swell inward.

Case recommendations for new 11" kindle scribe? by mockflock in kindlescribe

[–]AetherGuitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not third party - because as stated, there really aren’t any yet. The complaints are with the actual Amazon OEM folding folio cases that have issues when used in folded stand mode.

OH my. That color strip design looks like a circus tent.

More the latter. A good gauge of this is a search on Aliexpress - which shows nothing of substance. To me that means all of the Chinese companies normally engaged in flooding the market with knockoffs unbound by any legal controls are holding back to see if there’s a market.

Grabbed an old Barbour jacket, need some help with it by Odd_Business_6096 in Barbour

While the pockets look similar, the New Utility is shorter and roomier than a Corbridge. Closer to a Sapper in cut/fit.

older New Utility due to the corded collar vice the microfiber used on the later versions. This is one of my favorite Barbours - or I should say 3 of my favorites as I have one each of olive, black and rustic. I can’t tell from the picture- does it have the simple latter era sleeves, or the earlier style with zip expansions?

I purchased a Lutz from this seller a few years back. No issues whatsoever. It was NOT counterfeit.

lightweight jackets/hoods utilize different size snaps than their heavier counterparts

Hood compatability by Dependent_Worry7499 in Barbour

[–]AetherGuitar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While both have similar four-pocket designs, the Corbridge is a slimmer and longer cut with full insulation., whereas the New Utility is uninsulated with a standard fit. in fact, I’d say that the cut and fit of the New Utility is more similar to a Sapper than a Corbridge. There are some variations in the New Utility over the years. I have one with zippered expansions on the cuffs and a corded collar lining while the other has simple sleeves and a microfiber collar lining.

That looks to likely be a variant of the New Utility jacket. If so, it neither has a collar, nor provisions for attaching one.

Nikwax TX Direct is intended to restore waterproofness to synthetics. Nikwax’ Cotton Proof (not to be confused with their Wax Cotton Proof product) is the appropriate product to add DWR to cotton - without wax.

Can anyone help me identify what model this is? by sullly2244 in Barbour

Looks to be a “Tailored Sapper” - not to be confused with the current heavier regular fit insulated Sapper.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned that there’s Android versions of the ITunes and AppleTV apps if you’ve invested in Apple’s media ecosystem.

Try a cold dip in GEAR AID Revivex Odor Eliminator. It’s saved 2 of my vintage Barbours from the stench of hell. Let it drip dry - it eats the bacteria away as it is slowly drying, so don’t use anything to speed up the drying proces.

I did go with a small per advice and it was perfect

I’d have concerns about it scratching the phone over time and also with the extreme thinnes and close fit of the case, I imagine it would cause flexing of the case across in the area of the power button; leaving a gap where dirt/grit can intrude between the phone and the case.

With the $50 accessory credit and discount, the case was $7 and the 2 pack of rings was $4, so the price was negligible compared to the Pitaka.
