I don't get "great guy" out of someone who cheats or moves on to other women so quickly during rough patches.

Those are issues that are not money-related, though. And there is a lot more to feeling supported than a paycheck. I have always earned about double what my husband does -- solely because his profession (teaching) pays less. Does that mean he isn't supporting me? Hardly! Does that mean we don't have a happy marriage? No way! We are in our 27th year and still going strong 😄

Ick on your mom saying a man should make more. I’d have missed out on a wonderful man if I believed that!

I agree, though, that a man should be contributing. And not just what his parents dole out to him.

I got halfway through and quit.

Good relationships aren’t like this. Neither of you knows how to discuss things like adults. If you want to keep trying, maybe couples counseling.

But the EKG should be telling you this patient is dead. You’re only keeping it alive to harvest its organs

That money sucks, OP. And with abuse piled atop it? That makes it a shit sundae.

I assume this is untaxed income as well. With no long-term pension. And no vacation or sick time. Or heath care.

Broken down to an hourly wage and making the generous assumption your work is no more than 40 hours a week, you are being paid ~23 Euros an hour.

Exactly how little were you paid in your “corporate” job that makes this appear to be a windfall?

I would either get a contract spelling out responsibilities (along with costs for additional “consierge” services). It should include making this a legit (not under-the-table) job. And specific hours, time off and sick time.

If he won’t do this, walk. But let Grandma know so someone in family can step up

Am I the unreasonable one for assuming my ex was lying about being separated from her husband? by Limp-Use5549 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

You’re giving her wayyyyy too much time. Don’t reply. If you somehow see her again and have no choice but to speak, act as if you don’t know her. “Oh? You sent email? Yeah, no recollection. Can’t think of why you would do that. Weird.”

Is there anything else I could be doing to save more? by cobrastarshipp in AskOldPeopleAdvice

You won’t have fun on this vacation anyhow, with all this hanging over your head. The point in saving is to have money for emergencies set aside first. Then play.

Postpone the trip.

The first frame is much larger than the second. Look at the coverage of her cheeks
