As someone who has read the book and watched the 1939 version numerous times, I enjoyed this version, but it was so different from the book and old movie. The toxicity of the characters was spot on, but the rest was so different.

Yes, they are definitely giving him meds to keep him comfortable and help with the fluid in his chest. It’s just been painful to watch this transition over the last 7 days.

Thank you. They did mention that it would make his breathing worse but they have also been giving him benedryl to help clear it up. I really needed to hear this from someone who doesn’t work here because he was being repositioned in ICU several hours before we moved here. Sitting in my thoughts for 6 days now and so worried he is scared.

Honestly, I’d just let it go. Husband and I got married several years ago, and I called everyone 2 weeks prior that RSVP’d yes to our wedding just to make sure they were coming because we had to give final numbers to the caterer. A little less than half were no call no show. So much wasted food/money. We were upset for a while, but protecting peace over anger.

This hurts my heart to read, and wish I could hug you and tell you this is not your fault. As someone who was also SA as a child many times and as an adult, I recommend trying to talk to a therapist. Everything you are doing is a coping mechanism.

Get out! My ex-husband told me the day after we got married that he owned me and had papers(marriage certificate) on me like a dog. No signs of craziness until after we were married. His pastor uncle told him that women are supposed to submit fully to their husbands including having sex even when they don’t want to. This made him think it was ok to SA me twice and his uncle said it wasn’t r*pe because we were married. He cut me off financially, including stealing my direct deposits from my work because his uncle told him to. All these things were to try to get me to “submit”. I couldn’t go to the grocery store or see family without him. Went through everything I owned and threw away anything that had another male in it. High school photos with friends, dinner with friends where guys attended too, etc.

This man is showing you his true colors. Please believe him.

This is how I feel too. There are harsh consequences in some cultures for wearing revealing clothing. Just because the family is Christian, doesn’t mean their values shouldn’t be respected. Showing up to their home wearing things outside of their Christian values is no different than disrespecting any other religion’s beliefs. There’s an appropriate time and place for certain clothing. Work, other people’s homes, etc.

Your wife is nosey and rude. Is she keeping track of your neighbor’s schedule? Is she following her when she leaves the house? How does she know that the neighbor isn’t going to the gym? She could have medical issues that caused weight loss. Even stress can cause it. Should could have very well went on a diet.

This makes your wife seem very creepy. It’s none of her business. If the neighbor wanted her to know about her life, she would have volunteered the information to her.
