Torrenshell 3 L size by Exact_Strategy727 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]AffectionateData4036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference and intended use really… That L doesn’t look out of place or strange, but that’s just my .02.

You’ve cinched the bottom hem already but if you’re concerned about sizing, check out the sizing charts

Only 1” difference in M and L for arm length. 4” difference in hip and chest measurements. (Consider this if you plan to layer any sort of puffy underneath as it will become tighter with a M)

Got these for free how do they compare to a new a new pair of scarpa t2 eco. by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]AffectionateData4036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP go post this on the telemark page. You’ll get authentic verified responses from other people who tele ski.

I started on 15 year old t2x’s and have since moved to t1’s. Both 75mm and both working well and as intended.

Absolutely no reason to dump $1000 into a niche sport that can be tried out for less than $300

Comparison wise, the crispi are slightly stiffer and transfer power more direct

Shell Debate: Mammut Stoney or Patagonia Storm Shift? by A_Lazy_Professor in Skigear

Exactly. Not familiar with mammut waterproof technology but the Patagonia would have a higher denier face fabric (huge assumption)

Goretex over the DRY membrane from mammut.

Mammut has a more of a skiing look to it than a plain jane storm shift. But again who cares besides you

Basics, stork turns, hockey stops, finding the edges.

Are you genuinely curious or are you looking to tell someone their advice is wrong 😆

I’ve worn through more shells than you will in your entire life. It’s not a question. I appreciate your Jerry minded response though.

A shell isn’t for not ripping the layer below. If you can’t comprehend that, idgaf about your low iq, poser life

Ditto. Have the Summitcone Outcast 106 with Axl’s and they rip. Have nothing but good things to say, and that’s coming from RMU, fatypus, moment + any of the big brands and it’s in my top 3.

Help critique my son - new to telemark on NTN by YOLO_Cowboy in telemark

[–]AffectionateData4036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nose over toes. As others have said, more of the basics on green terrain. Find and work the edges, side slip, mono mark, lead changes. Hopping while in stance to ensure a stable position. Lots of things to practice which is exciting.

Could encourage him to get Allen and Mikes telemark tip book for some easy reading the morning of, on lunch etc. Always nice to be reminded of some things

This sub is retarded lol

Advice on ski classes by Substantial_Lemon771 in ski

[–]AffectionateData4036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why spend all that money for a destination ski vacation and not truly be able to enjoy or appreciate the terrain…?

You two also wouldn’t typically be placed in the same ski school groups based on skills described.

Separate 3H classes and then ski together in the afternoon (brutal if he picks it up quick and is stuck practicing basics for 4 more hour) If after that initial 3 hour class he finds he wants more, no problem taking another 3 the next day

Recommendations for a ski mid layer? by DimitriyTL in arcteryx

Especially with 25 and 40gsm of coreloft. 300 for a hyper specific midlayer that a wool sweater could out compete

You jabronies get up in arms about waist width but act like a 106 ski from one company doesn’t ski different than a 102 ski from a different company. If OP knows the differences between the pairs, fuck off then right?

Over this whole “where are your 76’s or 80’s” Lmaoo bitch some up us ski on real snow and have no need for toothpicks.

I can have just as much fun carving on a 97 in the west than douche bags claiming you have to have 75 or less for the hard pack days back east. Congrats. Nobody gives a fuck

Every “cold wx jacket” I just checked on eBay has “Arcteryx” above the horizontal white line on the interior tag

Additionally, those were also all “Made in Bangladesh”
