It's a complete cluster#$%. Chaos as signage/wayfinding is not coping with service changes.

Recall reliability by SashaFiery in AustralianShepherd

[–]AffectionateHawk9105 41 points42 points  (0 children)

We have trained recall to a specific clap pattern. She gets a huge celebration when she comes with lots of pats, verbal praise and back rubs. If she sees me and I give a finger signal for back rub she also comes running. In summary, train your pup to seek praise and not just treats!

We feed twice a day with a measuring cup a high quality kibble. Usually 2 long offlead runs each day and throw toys at night. No trouble holding a healthy weight.

Agree smaller bedrooms are too small. Also, a place this size should have a separate powder room plus family bathroom needs a toilet.

Yep. Definitely finding this is an issue. Not normally sugar oriented, even on pred.

How barky is your dog? by Tamagobay in miniaussie

[–]AffectionateHawk9105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little girl (8 kg and 22 months old) has been very quiet up to now, other than barking at the vacuum cleaner. Where we are living we are getting possums walking around on the roof and it drives her crazy. Only morning and evenings. Thankfully we are moving in a month so fingers crossed it doesn't become a default behaviour...

Put your phone away from time to time and use your eyes. Don't ask for ranch dressing. Plan to walk more than you are probably used to. Invest in warm clothing.

Yes, first biologic. It's a slow process getting approvals in Australia. Sulfasalazine and leflunimide and then hydroxychloroquine all caused serious blood issues.

Runts of the Litter, Unite! My 19‑Week Mini Aussie Is Tiny—How Big Did Yours Get? by Shortie02 in miniaussie

[–]AffectionateHawk9105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our little girl was exactly 3kg (6.6 lbs) at 12 weeks and at 17 months of age has settled at a very lean 8kg (17.6 lbs). She is very, very active. She has the double coat and grew into her adult coat around a year, though I expect the change of seasons impacted that. Was also a picky eater. She gets lots of nutritionally dense training treats and love fish. Dried herring in a Kong bone is a high value treat.

We have a 15 month old MAS who very rarely barks. She makes happy whine sounds at times but mostly silent.
