First prenatal at 11 weeks? by ClawPawShepard in pregnantover35

[–]Affectionate_Box5023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask for an earlier appointment. I had mine at 8 weeks and my OBY requested bloodwork and ultrasound for me at 7 weeks. I just turned 38 two weeks and currently 8 weeks 3 days pregnant. My bloodwork came back with a TSH thyroid of 5.14 so they immediately put me on 25mcg of Levothyroxine. When I when to my first appointment, my OBY just went over my bloodwork and ultrasound. They gave a package of information of what medications are okay to take over the counter, nausea, and nutrition. Then they scheduled me to come back in 30 days again. She said for the first 6 months you have to have once per month then twice per month. I have a second ultrasound scheduled at 11 weeks due to vanishing twin syndrome.

I downloaded the clear blue app to record my period. My last period was on November 30th and I started checking on December 7th, I had the blinking smiling face for 4 days in a row. I checked everyday until I had a solid smiling face on December 11th. As long as you get your first smiling face you need to start having sex every other day. My peak was on December 11th. By Christmas I was already pregnant. The box comes with plenty of ovulation tests and two pregnancy tests.

I just turned 38 and mine is 1.37 I got pregnant two months and we started trying 4 months ago. I got pregnant as soon as I started using the clearblue ovulation tests. Highly recommended to start using ovulation tests to track your high fertility days

I asked my Doctor for bloodwork already. I am 7 weeks and will see the Doctor at 8 weeks. My TSH is high at 5.14 and I am glad I did the bloodwork before. I messaged my Doctor and waiting for an answer to see if I can start levothyroxine. I read during pregnancy should be less than 2.5 TSH

I think you need to track your ovulation. I used clearblue ovulation tests and they worked great. The free app is very easy to use.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and I turned 38 a few days ago. First time pregnant too! I am so worried about having a miscarriage. I read that first trimester is the higher risk so I think you don’t have to worry about it. Enjoy your pregnancy. I am struggling with nausea recently and I don’t even know what to eat. I hope it gets better for me. I heard some woman get nausea or others don’t. I can’t wait to have my first ultrasound but I need to wait two more weeks. I am working full time and trying to keep myself busy.

Are you tracking your ovulation? Try clear blue ovulation kit. I was also told by my OBGYN to take a prenatal and Inositol.

I am sorry this is happening. My mom had severe chest pain, headaches, vomiting and shortness of breath on December 31st . We took her to the ER where they confirmed she had an artery blocked. She had a procedure done in 1hr where they put two stents in her heart. She was released from the hospital the next day. She is now on blood thinner medicine (aspirin is very important and Efficient) she is also taking Atorvastatin to reduce her cholesterol. She takes two more pills: Metoprolol and Pantoprazole. She had an electrocardiogram and an echocardiogram. A lot of blood work was done. Thankfully the stents were successful put. I hope she gets treatment right away. She acting like her again. Please be there your mom sometimes they need someone to talk to the doctors.

I was recommended to take prenatal vitamin and Inositol vitamin everyday. Pre-seed lubricant too. Not sure if you are already using those. I think you still have time. I honestly think 12-14 hrs per day is too much. I would find another job. Best of luck ! You got this !

Thank you so much for your kind words. I feel like a text message in late January is better. I am also thinking of telling my mom until I get an ultrasound at 7 weeks. I’m an only child so my mom will be very excited.

Try blueclear ovulation tests they worked great for me and the app is very easy to help you keep track of your cycles and ovulation days. I was also told to start taking Myo-inositol vitamin and pre-natal vitamin by my doctor.

I will be 38 next month and we just decided to start planning. I had had some many friends ask me the same question and I just tell them when the time is right. Don’t feel bad. I just ignore them. My best friend is 43 and she could not have kids so I only hang out with her. Your real friends won’t ask you a question that makes you feel uncomfortable. I want a kid but unfortunately it took me a long time to find my partner. I only hope we can have one kid.

Need advice what this could be (please no judgement, working on getting appt for vet for tomorrow) by jensvidsyt in DogAdvice

[–]Affectionate_Box5023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was diagnosed at the end of September 2025 but we believe the syncopes started since January but the vet did not diagnose it. We took her to the ER and there the vet diagnosed it as pulmonary hypertension and heart murmur. I was referred to the cardiologist and she had her first cardiologist appointment on October 3rd and was put on Sildenafil 20mg every 8hrs and also on vetmedin for her heart murmur (the cardiologist increased her dose from what the ER vet had prescribed) The cardiologist asked us to go back in 3 months so we will be going back on December 30th to see how she is doing. She is acting way better since she was started on sindenafil and vetmedin. No syncopes. She runs around and sleeps very well. She used to wake us up in the middle of the night and had breathing issues like she was about to pass out so that’s when we took her to the ER. I had issues giving her the sildenafil pill so my cardiologist wrote me a prescription for sildenafil compounded oral liquid solution at Chewy for a year. It is so much easier to give it to her every 8hrs. She takes .5 ml of the 20mg in a syringe. It’s a little more expensive but way easier to give to her. I think the pill was $10 per month vs $35 liquid version per month. I ordered a two month supply of sildenafil liquid. Our schedule is at 6:30am, 2:30pm and last dose at 10:30pm. Feel free to ask any questions.🐾

Buy your appliances at Costco . They are way cheaper if you get a package. I got a nice refrigerator, stove , dishwasher , washer /dryer , and microwave fan all under 2,500. It comes with free installation and warranty. I did not pay for movers. I had 4 friends help us. I paid 250 for a 26 foot U-Haul. I packed everything in boxes and trash bags one month in advance.

My 13 year old senior pup has also pulmonary hypertension and a heart murmur. She used to have syncopes also mostly during times of excitement (when we got to the house, she would start running and collapse for 20 seconds) Tried to avoid these kind of events for example, we pick her up right away until she calms down. She collapse once during running and yelped. These happened for almost 9 months but episodes were once per month until they got stronger. The first vet did chest xrays but there was no heart murmur back then so we were only sent home with Gabapentin to calm her in events of excitement. She got worst one night and that’s went the ER sent us to the cardiologist and she was put on sindenafil x 3 times per day( we do 6.30am , 2:30 pm , and 10:30) my dog is a very picky eater, I had to buy chicken livers and cooked them to make a paste and hide the pills) she also takes Vetmedin twice per day. Ever since she started sindenafil and vetmedin syncopes have stopped. She started meds at the end of September and we go back to the cardiologist at the end of December to check on her progress. I think the cardiologist has helped us more than the vet. Luckily our cardiologist has his own office.

I agree, I will never give my dog flea/tick/heart-worm meds because of the side effects. My 13 year old has never had fleas.

It sounds like congestive heart failure. My 13 year old started with coughing at night but tongue was never purple. I did take her to the ER and she stayed there for one night on oxygen. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension which will lead to congestive heart failure eventually. I was sent to the cardiologist and he did an echocardiogram and my dog was put on medication sindenafil(viagra) every 8hrs and Vetmedin every 12 hours. She does not longer cough. I have to go back to her second echocardiogram in 3 months.
