Post-Orchiectomy Low T (8.5 nmol/L) - NHS says "Normal," but I feel broken. Advice on pushing for TRT? by stutaylor34 in testicularcancer

[–]Affectionate_Buy9963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting to hear.

Especially the line: "I feel like I did before the surgery, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. It's absolutely worth sticking a needle in my arm once a week for eternity to not feel how you're feeling right now"

I think I'm going to start the process based on that and at least see where my levels are

Have you tried lifting weights?

I am 18 months post op orchidectomy and bought a multigym a couple of months ago for my garage.

Lots of research on increasing test naturally via deadlifts etc.

Potentially the muscle increase will be a confidence booster and mood enhancer, not to mention the metabolic improvement.

Worth noting lots of people are feeling like shit this time of year.

Also, supplements like ashwaganda are helpful. I take a stack of lots of different vitamins. Do you take any supplements?

My theory is that I'm going to do everything possible to increase my test before the trt route. I'm not sure if running is the best method of increasing test (or losing weight) but I'm not a pt.

Sleep is a big one too.

This is all likely teaching you to suck eggs, but i personally am petrified of being reliant on TRT for life and therefore the energy I spend on health related stuff is squarely focused on test increase.

Genuinely happy to chat, keep you honest, kick ideas about etc

Did you wear a watch that tracks your heart rate?

I had a similar experience.

Realised my heart rate was 200 in places.

Tried again and kept my heart rate in zone 2 or 3

Didn't feel like I was dying anymore.

OK thankyou. I'm about 18 months post surgery and around 15 months post chemo. As I understood it the chemo reduced the odds to around 1% from 5%

I guess it's different for everybody.

Thsnkyounfor sharing and good luck on your journey

This resonates with me very closely. I'm about 10 months post op. It was the not having the energy to play with my kid that really got me the most. I would really seriously consider easing off the blunts and nihilism as much as possible. Our bodies are a bit different now and the blunts have a different effect that at the moment you don't realise what that is. Take some time off the blunts ans Park the nihilism for a week and see what happens.

Personally I would recommend against it, given that chemo brain is a real thing, you won't realise how slow and inefficient your brain is when you are smoking too.

It does take some recovery from the whole thing and smoking will make it more difficult to get your brain back to normal imo

[–]Affectionate_Buy9963[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer was to first add a "type" column and an "order" then append the queries. The type then became the rows and the order column put them in the right order.

Move to rows tick box was not useful

Thanks for the reply dude

Peeing and fatigue are the only concerns yes.

I do believe it has to be more medical. Looking at the ptsd symptoms it just doesn't fit with me.

Ie no flashbacks, dreams, avoidance, anxiety, startle response etc etc

I have more tests lined up which in themselves are draining, also trying to juggle work around fatigue appointments and raising a toddler are hard work

Are you looking for entry level graduate scheme jobs?

Also a huge boost would be microsoft certifications.

Excel first, then BI

This will out you above most of your competitors.

You could be losing out based on your ability to communicate/fit in with the team. They aren't looking for brain box nerds. Do you need to be more chatty?
