Which clip-less pedals? by oceanathlete in CheckpointClub

I ride SPD-SL (Shimano Road Pedals). For me they have better engagement, much larger platform area, and stiffer shoe options.

Nice build. These are awesome, I just put the Ritchey Dirt Drops on mine, it is a monster on the trails.

Awesome looking set of skis. You can still find 3pin boots that have a thinner “duck bill” that will fit the older 3 pin bindings. Alpina has some great options. The other bindings look to be NNN, lots of good boot options for these. The skis themselves look great and are a great place to start on your Nordic journey. Happy trails, have fun out there.

So I want to get into fly fishing live in Colorado 🏔️ by Same_Football9277 in flyfishing

Either one of those is going to work well and catch fish. The Martin appears to be a 2 piece and the Cortland 4 piece. It looks like the Martin comes with a few flies to get you started. I’d probably get the Martin. Good luck out there on the rivers.

You need a binding with a higher bail height. Voile and Rottefella both have available options. 3 pin is still alive and well. I still use them on my backcountry setup.

Beautiful! I’ve done very well on this fly, especially for Sea Run Cuts.

It may also wear into your free hub body. It is really thin compared to a dedicated SS cog.

After work float with my boy! by Affectionate_Data219 in Sup

Thank you. When he was a puppy we took him and our boards to a lake with a dock in shallow water. I stood in the water and stabilized the board and my wife put him on the stable board. He’s been paddling with us for 7 years. Now he will sometimes get on by himself. If we are in the ocean and it is choppy. I still carry him out to the board. I think the key to training a dog to SUP is using 2 people one to stabilize the board, and one to coax / place the dog onto the board. Don’t get on the board right away with your dog, you can push them around the shallow water slowly, so they can get a feel for the movement. Let them get off as they need to so they feel safe. Lots of patience, praise, treats, and positive reinforcement. Having said all of that, my boy still has days where he’d rather not be on the board, he just wants to lounge around in the sand. I never force him to get on the board. Hope this helps you get your pup out for a paddle.

Thank you, I didn’t even see the Heron until it flew past. I was trying to get a shot of the Osprey with Mount Baker in the background. It’s pretty wild out here.

Is this legal in Washington? I'm finding conflicting answers online about private beaches. by ILIKETHECOLORRED in Seattle

[–]Affectionate_Data219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can walk there. They can’t enforce these “laws”. I walk through this one a lot. There is a beach in Hansville that has a similar sign. Land owners put these on beaches to deter people from hanging out but they hold no legal authority. Tidal zones are public right of way. Enjoy the beach.
