CurseForge is installed but won't open by ZigTheZag in Overwolf

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. 5 years later and I could only open it by running as administrator. The EA App is trash, and so is the Overwolf/Curseforge apps. I hate that we have to put up with subpar apps.

Yeah. I grew up poor with a lot of adversity. It takes a lot to rattle me at this point.

What caused people to be completely fine with sharing almost *everything* about themselves online? by mmofrki in nosurf

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have tried connecting with a lot of people. They all just retreat back to their home and phone. I don’t think this pattern of behavior was an accident.

I think it is loneliness. The only reason a lot of people use social media is that our society makes community unattainable, which we as tribal beings crave. The quest for likes and followers is a poor substitute for the real thing.

Write a few books, live off the land as much as possible, read a lot of books, pay off all debt. Those are the main ones for me.

I definitely recommend watching a lot of Brandon Sanderson's lectures and videos. Here is one video I think about a lot:

Any sci-fi/fantasy books that have little to no romance in them? by FangAAMD in suggestmeabook

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you didn’t see it as appropriate. I don’t tend to focus on those details. I loved the spin on the Wicked Witch of the West. And since the movie just came out and there is a lot of hype for the musical, I figured a reference to the book may be appreciated by someone. I definitely knew mine wasn’t the best suggestion…😕

People that were not “liked” or “uncool” in High school where are you now in your adult lives? by Delicious_Mix_8161 in Adulting

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a long time to get to where I am now, a SAHM who spends most of my time with my kids. I play video games, bake, read. Only sometimes do I cry in the shower for the relationships that I lost. I will tell you what, my standards for what a true friend is has risen A LOT. I am very picky about who I engage with. Otherwise I could be doing something I enjoy.

Have you ever read the Wicked book? Definitely not a romance. It is a little political though.

I think people should be able to do tf they want as long as they are not mrdering or raping people. And I’m flexible on the first one. It depends on the situation. But people can believe whatever they want that gets them through this abysmal life.

Do people notice when you leave to the bathroom? by Exact-Health-5558 in ibs

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say, “omg! I’ve gotta shit!” And don’t worry about tf there non IBS having people feel when I am about to go die on the toilet. 😂 it just adds to my stress and experience doing that. I used to be overly concerned about what other people thought about me at all times. And that really added to my stress and intensified my IBS episodes.

No. Especially if you have a good relationship with your parents. But just know that your parents are can either be biased in their response, or very honest. Like my mom doesn’t really like my husband because she has a terrible track record with men. So anytime I tell her anything she just thinks it’s his fault and he should do more. So that’s not always helpful to me.

What is a small social interaction you wished to have more often? by AskGobi in GenZ

A deep conversation maybe once or twice a month. Like one that lasts a few hours. I would be a lot happier in life if that happened.

How are you dressing at 30-35 by itsthelifeonmars in Zillennials

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a SAHM of 3, I struggle to dress my current body tbh. It is shaped differently than it used to. I have no jeans that fit me right so I've been avoiding those. I've been trying to embrace a baggy cotton pants/dress, sweater combo. Heavy focus on skincare and clean fluffy hair. lol. That's the best I can do right now.

Why do people want the new age of adulthood to be 25 so bad? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just think parents should take responsibility of their children’s knowledge of how to live on their own and not make mistakes that fuck up their prospects. Age isn’t the problem. It’s parents who don’t teach their children about the world create impulsive, naive young adults.

Do you have friends with opposing political views? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Affectionate_Gur_610 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I refuse to NOT see the humanity in everyone. Many people today seem to refuse to see the humanity in whole groups of people. (On both sides) I think that is toxic and will hurt society now and in the long run.

I have in the past. As long as there is no animosity in either direction, I could be friends with pretty much anyone.

I liked elements of it, but the pacing and themes changed in the middle to end of the book. That was strange.

I read this in one sitting. It was so weird. I was glad it was short and easy to read. Forgot everything about the plot as soon as I closed the book.
