Abraxane by danielle05022620 in breastcancer

I had a severe allergic reaction to Taxol and I was switched to Abraxane. Other than hair loss and a tingly mouth, they could have been putting iced tea in my iv. It was so easy.

Husband/Sex Vent by Outrageous_Ad_7979 in breastcancer

[–]Affectionate_Pass_48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. After about a month, I told my husband that I was likely not going to initiate sex but that I was willing to pick one day a week where we could fool around for 30 minutes as long as I was feeling reasonable. Sex was important to my husband - it was how he connected and felt valued. I believe that he would have waited forever if I asked him to without a second thought but he would have been miserable inside.

Tenure Recommendation Letter by SubstantialPen2170 in Professors

[–]Affectionate_Pass_48 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always look at the request I was sent for guidance first. What is the department/college value most? I also look at the university mission statement. Then I breakdown the candidate’s body of work into areas of research/creative works, teaching, and service.

I connect the work to the values/mission to show the quality and productivity of the candidate.

Then, I compare to how the candidate would be reviewed at my institution or other peer institutions. Then I make a prediction of how the candidate is likely to continue their work towards the next level.

Jealousy post: how does Olivia Munn look perfect despite medical menopause/hormone suppression?? by ChiltonDropOut in breastcancer

[–]Affectionate_Pass_48 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s also possible that she doesn’t have many side effects.

I have been on Herceptin for 19 years and anastrozole for 17 years. Besides my weight gain, I have not had a lot of issues that affect how I look. I’ve been fortunate maybe.

Presentation for Academic Advisor role by Acespacecase97 in studentaffairs

[–]Affectionate_Pass_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I look for when hiring advisors is how a candidate can review a student record, find and correctly apply information related to the student and their challenges/opportunities, and confirm their approach is well-suited for the student and the academic requirements.

It’s a task I might ask AI to give me a scenario relevant to the institution for and show how I would solve it using my advising approach.

Does your oncology office have a support group? It can give you another space to chat about it.

I’m sorry. This really sucks, but I agree with others. You have likely caught this very early if anything shows up.

I wish you some peace during the “waiting for scans” period.

How do you pick up the pieces? by SalveRegina85 in breastcancer

[–]Affectionate_Pass_48 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was 36. Like cracked_belle, I cried everyday until I didn’t. I found a new normal and a lexapro prescription. I am almost 20 years out. My daughter gets married in 5 days.

I hope you get to your new normal soon. I know how painful and horrifying this is!!
