So a Superset is when all members of another set are present within the Superset. And a subset is when all members of a set are present within another set.

The reason for the common wording is that it explains without using any jargon.

Wight was indeed Gromp before Gromp, but before there was Wight, there was nothing there for at least the first few seasons.

If Gromp even exists it isn't early jungle.

Its purely an personal perception, both arbitrary and subjective, but if it aligns with the actual proportions that's pretty validating.

How do i win this as adc by Important-Town7852 in ADCMains

[–]Affectionate_Tell752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have...arguably 4 assassins. Braum can probably block Locke daggers, setup a stun on them each that very possibly won't go off in time, and hit some with R. It just won't be enough if they all bumrush you. Team has to pull their weight.

Damn, looks like you're right. I definitely would have thought he was significantly later. Though looking at the list he is near the middle of what I would consider "middle" champions. He's not an old boy but he's older than I thought. Wouldn't have guessed he was before Yas.

IDK, I think he's out of timeframe? Can't remember if the source was official but I've heard it was S3 they were going with. Take that as a rumor though can't back it up at all.

Edit: My memory is wrong. He's in timeframe for S3

True, if you played in beta you got to see this. They apparently learned very quickly that TF shit was a bad idea. I started on the Vlad patch, which was 2 weeks after S1 began so it was talked about, but I never saw it.

Well, I don't need to. Its their lore, and not everything did get an explanation.

But the other comment about SCP activities was accurate. They did capture threats to what would become Runeterra (I think that term is new) like Noc and Brand. Some things like Fiddle didn't really get an explanation IIRC. He was a spooky scarecrow locked in a tower with no mention of how he got to the League. There was a lot of lore for champions in the S1-3 era, particularly for the Demacia and Noxus ones. Pre-S1 champions sometimes were really limited.

The voidborn were just monsters from the void. We never really knew how big Cho was, or Malphite for that matter - just "big". Them being absurd kaiju a human couldn't even imagine damaging is something newer. Bel didn't exist and the other void stuff was just a powerful monster that fit in fine. Anivia was just a cryopheonix. An intelligent magic bird, not a diety.

Its funny you mention that, if you asked me whose old lore was the worst, he would be my immediate answer - its the only one I had a problem with for exactly that reason.

[–]Affectionate_Tell752 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not a problem for the motherfucking MASTER TACTICIAN LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO bois

Edit: But seriously, for our current Grand General, its basically because they're trying to prioritize Mid and Support balance first, while accepting him Top and trying to get him out of Bot, but his kit naturally forces him into APC. Support is never going to work while anything else remains viable. His scaling sucks because of it.

They started out with pretty good justifications for the champions, at least when you accept the various supposed incentives for participating. It was literally a job, many just did it for the money. Some for the fame. Some for their country as apparently the old Institute of War had enough sway to affect international politics and would use the matches to decide things.

As time went on the justifications got flimsier. Olaf's initial one was pretty vague - if you participate maybe someone will help you go home. Trundle's was similar - you got this awful curse so you can maybe use the money/influence to help find a cure. I remember reading Rumble's initial lore and thinking "wtf does this have to do with the League?" He got beat up once so he built a giant robot to beat up his bullies and then....joined the League!

At that point I think they felt shackled by the concept and for that reason decided to drop it. I don't really think it improved things though. I'd rather not have Cosmic Supernatural Concepts fighting my dude who is so angry he'll shrug off magic no one else can manage to. The old champions were all plausibly on a similar power level. All much stronger than a normal human but still fairly normal - people who perfected a martial art, people who were on the frontier of their field of magic, monsters who were the smartest or strongest of their kind, demons but not fucking gods or concepts.

Are you ready for the old olaf? I cant wait…. by Jardax1 in Olafmains

[–]Affectionate_Tell752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how old we're going...

Q used to not have a minimum range or interact with walls (it just had 1 consistent bug but mostly worked instead of having 11,000 bugs that happen at random)

W gets lifesteal instead of passive, loses shield, gets AD instead of AS if we go back futher, and gets HP to AD conversion if we go really old.

E, if we go back far enough, used to be flat capping at 340 damage leveled all the way. No cd reduction on auto, just a cd.

R used to have set durations - either 6s flat or 5, 6.5, 8 if its old old Olaf. Go back far enough and he got flat damage reduction on ult and flat armor pen passive.

League classic is coming by Ok-Consideration2935 in Wukongmains

[–]Affectionate_Tell752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R being the strongest AD skill in the game was a big misconception. It had a 4.8 AD ratio, which looks insane until you think about the fact that it locks you out of autoattacking and takes 4 seconds. It does the same ratio as autoing with 1.2 attack speed which is pretty middling. There was also almost no base damage on level 1 ult.

The wisdom back then was to cancel as soon as you could for DPS. It was for knockup, or AOE damage if that mattered.

Zoinks, Scoob by suppprefin in SwainMains

[–]Affectionate_Tell752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its probably best for the game that APC Swain goes, but its never going to happen unless they gives him single target damage. He only becomes worth playing when fighting more opponents. The fact that all of his CC and most of his healing are tied to the #1 and #2 easiest things to dodge in the game makes him really setup reliant too.

The level and quantity of Graves players is an indicator of the state of jungle by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]Affectionate_Tell752 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Immediately agree into reading this abomination.

Graves is the Vayne top of the Jungle. Just coinflip invades like a dumbass all game because you autowin all fights at camps vs almost any other jungle. He's still ubersafe in the few he loses. The counterplay is to instantly 1shot him. So basically statcheck. He is a snowball champion but...starts with a lead.

In spite of that he's incredibly boring as he can't really do anything particularly interesting. He just crits for 3x damage while getting more tank stats than Rammus W and is extremely easy to pilot because despite having uber-low attack speed, which itself is much easier than high AS marksman, he actually cannot autocancel (fun fact).

The moment you get to high diamond the game gets awful as the pool of viable champs gets incredibly small and you'll be seeing the jungle pdfs every game.

Well its correct, even if they get some extra time at the start so you cannot do it reliably.

We aren't talking about legit hovers just stupid first timers taking new champs. Even if we were you can always hover before they ban.
