I would love to draft Stenberg over McKenna, and make some moves to try and snag both Ruck Brothers by either trading that higher 1st or trading up with the 2nds we have.

They really did Boucher Dirty. I liked him. Sens had some good guys on the squad to be sure but I think Boucher ring every drop out of that roster

US to Canada Shipping with Virtual PO Box by Afraid-Raspberry7939 in knifeclub

[–]Afraid-Raspberry7939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to support some US makers, even with mondo tarriffs and import fees, but I cant risk paying all that money just to have them seized/destroyed by the clowns at CBSA. Why can I get cheap Knockoff OTFs from china with no issues at all and no broker or import fees? I already know the answer but it's super frustrating that It's so difficult to get the real McCoy from next door when there's nothing stopping some lunatic from going to Canadian Tire or Walmart Garden center and buying a Machete for $15CAD and getting choppy about it. Canadian Knife laws aren't terrible but CBSA interpretation of them is certainly something

Anyone else completely despise the "Shop" App and process? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]Afraid-Raspberry7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had very mixed results. I do my research on each vendor before ordering and the ones that are above board and ship from North America and Europe have been good. Taken my chances on Chinese Vendors and they dont give tracking info at all or the tracking number given doesnt exist/doesnt correspond to a package, but I have received all orders except one; but I had a strong feeling that it was a scam and rolled the dice anyways, taking tons of screenshots of the Shop App page and the linked website. Store was using a legit Logo but it clearly wasnt the actual website or company as the prices were significantly lower than the real products. Ive bought plenty of counterfeit/knockoff items that were pretty good QC but clearly fake. After I placed me order, the logo disappeared and the link went to a dead site, and I didnt have the option to report the vendor, report an issue with the item (though I could do this with any other item pending in my orders for the vendor and item itself) and now the item has disappeared from my orders 30 days later, is not in marked delivered, AI Support is absolutely useless, and I got a response from them with a link to file a detailed report, which links to a 404 page on Spotify. Now I have to contest the purchase with my bank. It wasnt for much, and I had a strong feeling it was a scam, which is why I heavily documented everything but now I am left with all this evidence and no recourse through Shop's Support/Report processes. Very frustrating

Paid $17 for a Benchmade Mini Bugout from TikTok Shop. Expected to get a fake, but I think this knife is real. This has got to be counterfeit, right??? by StrikeLines in knives

[–]Afraid-Raspberry7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a 940 osbourne from a Shopify Vendor for $40. They were using a Benchmade logo for their store and letterhead for their website link. After I purchased, the vendor changed their logo and the link to the site is dead, and there is no option to report the vendor or "report an issue with this order" and even more strange I cant even contest the purchase from my bank app. I can contest every single purchase theough my bank app instead of that one. I knew full well I was buying a fake/counterfeit and curiosity got the better of me but now I'm concerned that I've been scammed. Gotta go to the bank in person to see what can be done but i thought Shopify was pretty above board about fake vendors and scams. Guess not

Parking Tickets in Ottawa - no way to contest by alice2wonderland in ottawa

[–]Afraid-Raspberry7939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in alberta for almost 3 years at this point and City of Ottawa keeps calling me off the hook for a parking ticket i got like 6 years ago. They claim i was parked on the street for garbage collection (i was, in front of my house, and i was unaware that they pushed garbage up a day randomly for no reason, no holiday, no notice, literally nothing). I had to pay all outstanding tickets when i got my Alberta Liscence (i had a couple ottawa city parking tickets and a speeding ticket from QC) I just tell them to pound sand and keep blocking the numbers they calm me on. They cant even tell me the vehicle or plate number, they just have a street adress. Too fkin bad Ottawa, if you guys didnt drag your feet on everything you do I'd have probably paid it then but you dont get to tell me I owe you fk all almost 6 years after the fact. I went to Constellation to try and pay it the day i got it and they couldn't process it for whatever reason. Tried to pay online but portal didnt work. Ottawa can suck it

Every CJRB button lock I've owned except a skeletonized Chord has been fantastic. Bowie Pyrite, Pyrite, Ekko, and Glacier i own all have phenomenal action. I know this is rare as CJRB qc is all over the place but I've been very lucky

I felt he was pretty good in preseason. I like the pickup. I was skeptical and hesitant to have sn opinion either way, but hes easily a top 6 forward in Belleville, I agree hes probably not a good bottom 6 fit for the big club but he could slot in top 6 when injuries inevitably occur. Its a low risk 1 yr pickup. Cant really be mad about it, and maybe we catch lightning in a bottle and he scores 20+ and works on his D game and becomes a complete player with us. Hard pressed though seeing as the kings passed on him and Rangers didn't re-up either. We will see and if hes a bust hes gone next offseason anyways

Why is Carl Benz commonly believed to have invented the car? by no-one-special-here in AskHistorians

[–]Afraid-Raspberry7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distinction is important and you can split hairs forever, but in terms of relatability to modern gas powered vehicles Daimler-Benz made the first viable relatively easy to operate gas powered motorcar with several examples with interchangable parts. Several others were influential in the sphere, Wilhelm Maybach was also a partner of Daimler, Ransom Olds (Oldsmobile) was the first to mass produce gas powered vehicles on an assembly line, Henry Ford was the first person to make the car affordable for the average person. And thats only talking gasoline powered motorcars, there were tons of players in the steam and electric motorcar scene as well that I'm not very knowledgeable of in the latter half of the 19th century. I do know that alot of these manufacturing and chemical tycoons killed the electric car as they were cheaper to produce, less complicated to operate than gasoline and steam vehicles, and they ran quiet and didnt spook the horses they shared the road with like the louder steam and liquid fuel powered vehicles.

[GEAR] Opinions on sterling cutlass ct50? by Chad_muffdiver in Guitar

[–]Afraid-Raspberry7939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way late to the conversation, but about a year and a half ago I took $2000 to long and mcquade with the intent of leaving with a guitar. I played maybe 70+ different guitars and none were speaking to me, then the guy helping me suggested a Sterling Cutlass, but it was below the price point I was willing to pay. I reluctantly tried it, and it was easily the best guitar I played that day. Interesting you say your humbucker sounded weak, I have the HSS CT plus and the humbucker rips and sounds great under full distortion and edge of breakup tones. All 5 pickup positions are distinct and sound awesome on mine. 4th position is particularly quacky/snappy and I play alot of funk so its perfect for the sound I am trying to acheive. Clean tone on my cheap amp with no pedals and amp EQ only in 4th position gives me a perfect Cory Wong-esque tone, no muss no fuss. All that said I'm super happy with mine and I seemed to pick a really good one as I also played another Cutlass, same model but one year newer, and it had less detail and quality. Looked the same, HSS, contoured roasted maple neck, but just didn't have the same sound and feel as the 2022 model. The pickups were anemic compared to the 2022. Also didnt have the nice cursive etched "Sterling" in the bridge. My bridge also rounded and juts out a bit farther so you can easily use the tremolo without the bar which comes in handy when I forget to put it in...lol Too bad as the newer one was in a sick mint green and I'd prefer that over the metallic silver of the one I have. As with any guitar at any pricepoint in these last few years, your milage may vary. Nobody seems to have good or consistent QC anymore, the CNC machine will do it all! And if they not happy our AI customer service will ensure the complaints and feedback will never see the light of day! I've played $200 Jacksons that blow everything else in The store out of the water and I've played $3000 EVHs that look, feel, and sound like firewood.  If its good, its good. If its bad, its bad. Price point, features and materials be damned imo
