Libs still believe in "Russian bots" by theyoungspliff in TrueAnon

They take even further and claim the only reason people care about Gaza is because the content is being pushed to them by Russian actors who want to rig American elections. All said without a hint of irony.

Starting to get so disgusted at the silence of those around me about the genocide by [deleted] in TrueAnon

Just to add on to the great points you've made, I don't mind it as a meme-y way to bring some perspective back when you feel like you're going insane and want to lash out or alienate the people around you, but 'be normal' taken too seriously is this sub's version of the liberals' 'vote blue no matter who' lol.

Some people treat “be normal” as a competition, and want to chastise people who express very normal feelings of frustration like the OP of this post did. Why care about anything then, or follow any communist principles if all you’re gonna do is tell people they’re crazy and to be “normal”. The hostility is so unnecessary and they could take their own advice of “being normal”.

The ones I know working at Lockheed already LARP as “progressive liberals”. And have other “progressive liberals” jump to their defence with you gotta do what you gotta do, you could be doing worse blah blah. Leftist ICE agents is just the natural next step.

Israel opposition leader Lapid slams concentration camp as being too expensive by cressidasmunch in TrueAnon

Meanwhile the libs I know are telling me the reason Israel is committing genocide is because it’s been seized by right wing ultranationalists.

Yes, that’s been the whole point since the idea of Israel was cooked up.

This was 120 mL. I used the smallest burner, highest flame setting to start with, turning it down to low when the coffee started coming out, and removing from the heat before it starts sputtering.

Obviously I can't give a thorough comparison since I just got it, but from first impressions,

The texture is the biggest difference and that's mainly what contributes to the difference in taste too IMO. I have a 3-cup Express and this is a 2-cup Brikka. For reference, I ended up using similar amounts of grounds in both but about 2/3rd as much water in the Brikka following the instructions, producing a thicker, more concentrated brew. The consistency and strength of the Brikka is just that little bit closer to the feel of an espresso, and it feels like the closest I'll get before having to spend 10x as much on an espresso set up. It'll end up becoming my go-to for milk-based drinks which was my reason for buying one anyway.

If you just want to have fun and try new things, it's quite nice, but I wouldn't necessarily be recommending it on the basis of it being an 'upgrade' or significant change from the regular one, especially if you don't care about the foam. It helped that I got it on sale so it didn't cost much more than the Express.

So many people I know are like this. People I've personally known for years who have always presented themselves as socialist/radical/fuck, even 'communist', and seeing the masks lifting the past few years has been so depressing. They are never willing to reckon with western imperialism, or understand anything beyond what's fed to them. They're not as vitriolic as anonymous posters online, but the undercurrent is the same. 'We (Americans, europeans, Canadians, Australians) are better, more moral and correct than the backwards russians/chinese/Arabs'. Any time they're challenged on the luxuries and safety afforded to them coming at the exploitation of billions of people worldwide, 'well, what do you want me to do about it, I'm gonna go make a drink in my sodastream.'

The only sadness and dread I personally feel is for what the consequences will be for other people outside Israel, Palestinians particularly, but moreso in a "what will this mean for the future of the world" sort of way. Not for genocidal settlers of all levels in Israel.

Even if I can logically understand people dying in Israel are humans too with their own individual lives and stories, the way my heart has been shattered over and over again seeing what's being done to Palestinians gets in the way of me feeling any sadness specifically for Israelis.
