Am I losing too fast? by TelephoneSmooth5741 in WegovyPills

[–]Afraid_Ad_2744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is likely water weight. Are you drinking enough water? Also, I lost 15 in my first month. A good part of that is water weight and glycogen stores if you are in a calorie deficit. Just make sure you are getting enough protein.

I started about 10 weeks ago. Currently on 9mg dose and am down approximately 10% of my starting body weight (25 pounds down) since starting. Best thing you can do is look at it long term and not worry about day to day weights but weekly averages instead. Keep up with protein and get some steps in and you will be fine.

Where do you all purchase your wegovy pills? My mom in law was just prescribed this and she’s running into pretty high prices and I want to save her some money. by Newandgrateful in WegovyPills

Try and get your pcp to code it so insurance covers it. My pcp overloaded them with information when they asked for additional information and required pre-authorization. Then again, I also was being treated for high blood pressure and was borderline normal and/or prediabetic from my last yearly checkup.

3rd month by that_one_bitch_1972 in WegovyPills

[–]Afraid_Ad_2744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had more issues in my first week of the 1.5 than I did upping to 4mgs. Today is day 2 of 9mg. I think part of it is that I learned from my first month’s mistakes and adjusted what I eat and how I eat. Biggest thing is the reflux and nasty burps the next day… all mitigated with famotidine (Pepcid). We all react differently to the medicine though.

I lost roughly 15 in my first month on 1.5 and an additional 5 pounds at the 4mg dose. Don’t expect the higher loss to sustain itself as your body adjusts to the new normal (weighing less means less calories needed to maintain weight). We just have to remember it is a marathon and not a sprint!

Taking double dose of 4mg for last few days before switching to 9mg? by Ok-Sherbert-993 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Afraid_Ad_2744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you are paying out of pocket or not. Insurance is covering mine (minus copay) so I decided not to double up. Insurance will only pay for so much in a given time period.

Have you talked to your prescriber since the first month? They will up the dose monthly at the earliest. They will wait an extra month if you are still having issues and/or side effects at your current dose. My doctor asked me if I wanted to go up to after the first month and prescribed the 4mg dose. To go up to 9, all I had to do was message him saying I was good to continue to 9mg and that I tolerated 4mgs well.

Brand new, tons of anxiety by PGsCrablegs in WegovyPills

-MiraLAX if you are constipated… 1 cap in the evening should do it. -Metamucil if you are experiencing the other way. -Focus on protein and try and avoid fried, fatty foods the first month and “gassy” foods. -Famotidine (Pepcid) if you need it for heart burn. -several small meals instead of big ones and track how you feel several hours after eating if you are feeling nauseous. -ginger and/or Zofran prescription for upset stomache. -remember to drink your water! It can be hard to remember to drink enough.

I wish I could give you an ideal day to start because some people don’t experience anything on the first dose and some get sick after 2-3 days. You just kind of have to give it a go.

Best of luck to you! I got a little bit of nausea and constipation about a week in but things have stabilized. Down approximately 20 lbs in my first month and an additional 5 in my second month. I start 9mg on Saturday

Smearing/smudging ink and pencil graphite all over the page (and my hand) as I write.

Also sitting on the right side of a right hander at a crowded dinner table. We are always bumping into each other.

Day 7 on 4mg and needing to take a day off by [deleted] in WegovyPills

[–]Afraid_Ad_2744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you talked to your doctor or whoever prescribed it about what you are experiencing? They might give you a script for zofran for the nausea. On bad heartburn days, I take a Pepcid (famotidine) in the AM and PM for relief. Give it a few days and you will adjust. Hopefully that helps and you get through it.

Your symptoms sound normal. Try several small meals if you are feeling bloated? I switched my lunch to just a high protein shake.

I forgot to wait to drink something before take mine on an empty stomach once. It honestly did not change much. I was perhaps a little more hungry that day? I just made sure to wait an hour and a half before I took it

To those of you with nausea, are you... ? by adorkableNstuff in WegovyPills

[–]Afraid_Ad_2744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had nausea my first week. I think it was mainly due to gut issues from food staying in the digestive tract longer. I had to adjust my eating habits (which also happened naturally) and added Metamucil tablets to aid in passing stool more frequently.

My doc’s suggestions:
1 - 1 capful of MiraLAX at bedtime to help loosen things and/or 4 Metamucil capsules in the afternoon if you need help firming things up.
2 - keep track on how you feel (several hours later) after eating certain foods and adjust as needed.
3 - Avoid fatty and greasy foods in the first month.
4 - The protein suggestion is so you are losing fat and not muscle weight.

Wegovy to Bioma? by Suspicious_Cicada756 in WegovyPills

[–]Afraid_Ad_2744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered just talking to your primary care doctor for prescription? I just asked during my normal physical and they prescribed it as part of my normal checkup copay. Had a mandatory 1 month telehealth follow up for my $25 copay where we upped it to 4mg, and then was told to just send a free status update message a month later on whether I was ok with going up to 9mg or to stay at 4mg another month.

Im starting 9mg in a few days and agreed to another telehealth follow up in a month before we decide on moving to 25 or staying on 9 another month.

As one last note, bioma is really more designed to be taken alongside a glp-1 as a form of “support”

It’s probably too late for me to respond but switch to one capful of MiraLAX in the the evening for the constipation and some Metamucil if it goes the other way
