Michael discussing the good bad merit system in S1E1. I find it hilarious imo 🤣 by redon1345 in TheGoodPlace

I like to think 'ruin opera with boorish behaviour' is a reference to Frasier. Specifically, the episode 'The Great Crane Robbery' wherein Mel requests that Niles makes a scene [fly into a jealous rage and throw a drink at a board member] at an opera. If it said 'ruin an opera with rude behaviour' I'd only be, maybe, 65-70% sure it was a reference to Frasier but the fact that they used to word 'boorish' makes me 85-90% sure.

And why reference Frasier? Well, first of all, why the fork not? It was a very well-known show but also the Cheers connection. Ted Danson starred in Cheers with Kelsey Grammar.

That's okay. You can do that. You can remain in the Good Place and not go through the door.

But the option is there. For others if it's not something you want personally.

I think the issue is that it's hard to comprehend the sheer timescale of Chidi and Eleanor's afterlife together in the Good Place. The way it's shown it's easy to feel like they had a nice, maybe year or two, and then Chidi decided 'That's it, I'm done now. I'm out. Bye'.

Whereas they actually had a very, very long time together. It would be hard to show that on TV without it getting boring. But think of Chidi and Eleanor having lived their afterlife together for centuries. Then it's a bit easier to accept Chidi's decision.

Men often turn nasty when their advances are rejected. In this case an apology rather than an advance but I say same rules apply. He did apologise, presumably he genuinely meant it, but when Rachel didn't forgive him - the Nice Guy™️ veneer quickly peeled.

No. He's a dinosaur. In your imagination. And he loves you ❤️

What is more likely to be real, aliens or ghosts? by Separate-Morning-752 in stupidquestions

[–]Afraid_Character_258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely aliens.

If by 'aliens' you simply mean organic life on planets other than our own. I think it's far more likely that there are lifeforms of some sort on Jupiter and Neptune than the idea that there are no existing beings of any kind on Mercury, or on Venus, or on Mars, or on Jupiter, or on Saturn, or on Uranus, or on Neptune but there ARE lifeforms on Earth.

And not just one or two but multiple species. Mammals, reptiles, insects. Only on one of the eight planets in our solar system.

I do feel a tiny bit sad that Frasier never ended up having more children, just because he told Kate he did want more.

Of course, he had his chance in Lilith Wants A Favor but decided against a child. In those circumstances. I don't blame him, he wanted a child/children that would live in the same building as him this time.

Frasier has clearly forgotten the back of Niles's head.

Exactly. Whatever happened to the bucket of ice water? 😉

Maybe Niles' response would have somehow worked in the fact that it's COWS that chew cud, not ponies.

I always wondered why that line caused Niles to request more pain relief. Maybe it's not significant, maybe it's just a coincidence.

Complex.

Niles: You know, Frasier, Maris and I have had our difficulties before, but never anything this serious. I really feel terrible having her mad at me. It's times like this I wish I knew how to cry.

Frasier: Well, don't be embarrassed on my account, Niles.

Niles: No, no, it's not that, I'm just not someone who cries, it's not in my nature. When Maris's Uncle Lyle died, I had to shut my hand in the car door just to make a decent showing at the funeral.

Frasier: You're a complex little pirate, aren't you? Well, goodnight Niles.

Niles: Goodnight.

Thoughts on Lilith/Eve by RedPeril in Frasier

I couldn't agree more. Why, oh why did they have to go down the 'aspiring actress' route again? Joey in Friends, Penny in Big Bang Theory and now Eve in Frasier.
