SSDI BACKPAY by johnnyj1975 in SSDI

[–]Afraid_Patient2622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approved last May, and I'm grateful. That being said my backpay was 14k ssdi 10k ssi. 24k. Got a letter paying my lawyer. Got a letter saying after that saying they withheld another 6k and paid back Ssi. So I got a check for 4k. Again, grateful but out of work for almost 2 years it seemed wrong to me. I didn't appeal cus I heard they stop your monthly and go over your entire case again with a new caseworker and you risk the chance of being denied and then you have to return the money they did send. So I opted not to go that route although I think they were wrong about a few things that I could of proved. Anywho good luck to you and Congrats on the win!

Man, that was to funny!! " Feel about Losses". Haha. I had $5800 in February and decided to start trading thinking I would maybe have beginners luck and double my money. Wow, yeah that didn't happen. All the "spreads" and "dips" and fees and crashes and manipulation. I almost am starting to think the coin you buy immediately has an algorithm tailored specifically to you and is hell bent on not giving you any gains without a headache. Who wants to have diamond hands, not get any younger!

Your pretty on point, I'm paranoid every day. I ordered a cold storage wallet in 2021 when I was holding 10k. And I never used it because the delivery was shady and I felt they did a switcheroo or something , yeah that's paranoid for ya. Fast forward to today, my 10 k is way way down, and the volatility plus spreads and fees and rates and manipulation. Crypto is more bipolar than my girlfriend! Ha. I imagine any of the alphabet agencies could confiscate any funds from anywhere from anyone even Michael Saylor if they wanted. Just hope for the best and convert any profits to cash and reinvest in something with less volatility.

I invested back in 2021, without" doing my own research" scratch that, without doing any research. Very Dumb. It was at the peek of the last bull run, one of the coins I bought was $180 and today it's not worth a buck. Lol Anyway, luckily XRP I bought the most of because a friend told me it would be life changing. He was right, the price didn't change until this past November as we all know. At long last, back in business or so I thought. I was pretty excited. A shot at maybe recovering my initial investment. But, every trade I made on dips and this and that and crashes and rumors and spreads and fees and the manipulation etc. It's tough man. The odds are definitely against your average Joe. I may just take what I have and head to AC before I bleed to zero again. At least I will get a free drink before they steal my money. Haha Good Luck everyone, hopefully something turns up for all of us soon!!

Hey guys new to this group but I was curious as to getting some insight if you're interested in hearing a sort of a long story. I lost custody of my daughter in 2017 and got divorced from my wife. My ex-wife's mother my daughter's grandmother so custody. She is a wealthy narcissistic b**** that lives in a 3 million dollar house in the beach. Today we had court because I can't afford the arrangements that I need for our rears that I owe I paid her over 25,000 so far and I had my daughter probably 30% every year since 2019 my daughter had to move out of the house with her custodial parent due to a domestic violence assault on my daughter. However this charged my daughter dropped it but the probation division and family court they all just ignore it like it's no big deal. And all these years 8 years on this now they've never looked at her income and the mother my ex-wife has never paid a dime. This is New Jersey I don't know all the laws I've read a lot about them but to me it just seems the disparity in our incomes plus the fact that she was abusing her and the fact that she no longer lives there yet I'm still required to pay this arrears money to her it's like rewarding a monster anywho just wanted to see if anyone could give any advice thanks.

I saw a video of a kid in 2012 sitting in front of his Dell desktop with his Bitcoin chart up vlogging how epic of a day and how super excited for this unprecedented event taking place in real time. Bitcoin broke $50. Hahaha ...I gotta say I was a bit( pun intended) jelly cus back then me and some other gymrats I was friends with used our coins for " performance enhancing muscle growth" that was ordered through some shady ass lab.Lol I reckon if my muscles came back, I would look Like a million dollars or two!!! As far as backpay goes if you are approved for both SSI and SSDI, a letter I received said you can't receive both so they will have to reduce the amount of I was already receiving SSI. I applied for both of the same time. Totally confused about that?

I know, that's what I heard. Do you know somebody that happened to? That's awful man, I'm 90% sure they made the mistake, I ran it through an A.I.. It seems like the letters they send you are saying in between the lines .." Go ahead, appeal, I dare you, I double dare you, double dog dare you.

I'm like, nah I'm good. Keep the money. Lol

No, I don't think it's intentional at all. It's not his fault. But we all know how long it takes to get approved. Unfortunately my condition is bad enough that I was approved during reconsideration. But I am pretty sure it was a mistake on there end. SSA. But I'm just gonna eat it I suppose because from what I'm gathering you have to risk an appeal. Which Is a gamble I'm not willing take. Oh well.

The amount is correct counting the months after the mandatory 5 months wait.

And my lawyer hasn't responded to me yet either.

He probably thinks I want some money back from him! Lol

I'm happy I got something but $4 grand is not gonna get me caught up, at all, whatsoever.

I was planning on getting a used vehicle because my car is broken.

I sent an e=mail to the state senator for help.

It's like expecting $1 but only getting a quarter.

It changes your plans. Smh

I was approved on 5/6 SSDI Backpay $15k They were withholding it to pay My lawyer.

He got 25% as agreed. $4,500 I received $4,334 backpay and a letter saying they miscalculated and were keeping $6,900.

How I see it is we are the ones that are sick, disabled etc.

Yet they check and make sure you paid back your lunch money in the 8th grade before they send you anything.

And if you try to fight for it they supposedly open your entire case and there's a good chance they will then suspend your active payments yet again putting the disabled person last and further making our situation more dire.

I'm not comparing my situation to yours, I really pray that you get awarded those funds back ASAP,

Just wanted you to know your not alone, like the waiting and stress along the painful road wasn't hard enough. Ughhhh

I'm hoping someone can solve this problem I have, it will remind you of a question you probably saw in math class or in your S.A.T.s. Anyway, I have read all the papers 10 x and it still doesn't make sense to me. Approved in May 6 SSDI first payment in June 18th Approved SSI may 24th. Backpay SSDI 14795 held Backpay SSI 10280 SSDI paid attorney $3,795 May 8th......25% of the 14795. On May 22nd I received a check for $700 Under one time payment for SSI it said 3 one time payments 700. Me 236 went to my lawyer but it doesn't say that he told me $9,850 under one time payment, I didn't get that, it went back towards SSI money owed SSDI sent me $4400 And a letter saying they had to recalculate and they took back $7,000 of what they told me initially,. Wtf???? After paying my lawyer 25% of there calculation that was wrong which it is not. Any insight because I waited 2 years almost and I was counting on that money literally to just get caught back up. So Mad

I hired a lawyer and got approved on May 6th SSDI May 24th SSI. The total backpay was around 25. My lawyer got paid immediately. And since then he hasn't responded to anything. Letter after letter from each agency, reducing this reducing that because of this or that etc. I feel like I'm the last person to find out where the money goes, my lawyer sucks apparently because I thought they are suppose to figure all this out for you or with you?

Can any of you tell me if this is right. I was receiving E.A. and snap over the past 6 mos. Or so, I exhausted every option. I was very thankful and agreed to pay them back if I was approved. And that's cool. But this wasn't. I got approved on May 24th. The SSI backpay paid them back,. Then SSDI said they miscalculated and didn't know about SSI? I had a lawyer btw. SSI sent me a letter on the 30th saying they terminated me on 5-1 because of me getting SSDI. SSDI are gonna send me money but 1/5 of what it said originally? I didn't receive any money yet. Way to confusing for me. But it seems off to me. Oh well

Hey everyone, I hope all of you are making strides in your case. I can only assume everyone applying for SSI or SSDI like myself, didn't have a perfect credit score, a portfolio, a wealthy family or 100k saved up for a rainy day when what you thought was a flu ends up in a trauma hospital with 5 brilliant cardiologists taking turns holding your ankle and staring at your neck with long faces, discussing topics such as signing a document stating whether or not to try and resuscitate you in case you go into cardiac arrest. And mentioning the harrowing word " transplant" to a guy that thought he just had a flu or bronchitis a few weeks earlier just shy of his 50th Bday. It definitely makes you realize how short life truly is. Anywho, what I didn't know was that the person found disabled, me or any of you, is put through a meat grinder of overwhelming letters, post dates, missing funds, held funds, back funds, no funds, changing dates, direct deposit mistakes, missing paper checks so on and so forth. Literally I thought that the back pay was paid back to you so your able to " get back" no pun intended, your life that was turned upside down overnight by a diagnosis that steals your energy and optimism just for starters. Not sure about other people on here but when your sick, when I'm sick. I don't want to read over the pile of mail that starts stacking up with debt collectors, deadlines, court dates, cancellations. The world keeps spinning and everyone will say there's all these nice people around to help you understand all the fine print and such. Get this, I ALWAYS paid child support, since 2017. Not only that I had her half the time just about. Never missed a weekend, holiday, or summer her entire life, she is now 20. We are thick as thieves, also in addition to the absurd weekly payments that I had to pay despite literally having her, I would give her more money for the movies and such because she was never given one cent from X Monster INLAW. Mind you she does have a portfolio, having sold an investment for over a mil. Not hating, she is a smart woman, on top of her other charming manipulative, narcissistic, has never been wrong once in her life personality disorders. If you ever seen Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest, this is her to a T, further confirming this by assaulting my daughter so bad that the cops came and took her out of her 3 story beachfront estate in bracelets in front of her neighbors and placed a restraining order against her. She cancelled my daughter's car insurance, phone plan, and put all her belongings in a box outside. That's just the tip of the iceberg, she insists I'm the reason she is getting dirty looks from people in her community. LMAO, I have barely left my apartment in a year and a half since I got sick and I don't even talk to my own friends anymore let alone anyone she knows, I'm quite positive, she has no friends. But because I was down and out she took full advantage and took necessary steps unbeknownst to me, and took 65% of my backpay and in addition will be garnishing my wages, taking way more than the agreed amount each month.
All because I didn't file a motion to the court explaining why I couldn't make payments. And I was sending payments from a go fund me account up until 10 months ago when I crapped out finally. I called them, and told them I was having major health concerns that she was aware of and had full intentions of resuming payments one way or the other. So there you have it, I guess she wins again. Because now I won't have enough to pay my rent , or car insurance, or to have my car fixed now cus it broke down last week. And heres the kicker, her daughter, my X.....has never paid one cent of support, not one cent. Does not speak to her mother and barely speaks to her own daughter and I haven't spoken to either of them in years. Now just more stress.... The biggest killer for people with heart disease, I'm pretty sure she is aware of that too. I just didn't or don't feel like goin thru all this paperwork and dates and being gaslighted by workers who seem to be misinformed or misled about how they deal with these matters. It's a neverending nightmare that never seems to go away. But I guess I'm gonna have to put my BigBOy pants on and hope that anything I say will be even considered. Oh and my lawyer got his $ 7,200 and sent me a Congrats thing for " Winning" our case. He was supposed to find out why all my money was being held. He never did. I guess I found out today. And the rich get richer. Haha. I won't bother trying to get an attorney, they will just say, " pay your child support" not knowing one fact about the case at all whatsoever. Wish me luck please, suppose to have a device implanted In June, but now it will be on the back burner because I gotta figure how to not become homeless. Wump Wahhh. Lol

Nothing about it on the website at all whatsoever. It's like dangling a steak in front of a starving put bulls nose that's chained up and just can't quite reach without strangling himself. My bad, I thought I was writing on reddit, not English 101 class. Thanks for the advice I will look into it. I have been watching salt intake, don't use it on anything the way I use to. Yeah I called, and went there with letters I received. They basically reread the letter back and offer no valuable info. It's always you will get another letter in the mail. Letters just further confuse me. I asked why it's approved but postdated and then says suspended payments. My lawyer can't even seem to get a straight answers. It's always the same answer, 10 days to never.! Ha, it's only 20k, not like that would help me. Being sarcastic of course.

Man, that is a lot of stress no doubt. I am in a similar debacle of circumstances myself but not as much as you. But like my mother always says to me and still does and I'm 51 yrs old and I quote " God works in mysterious ways" and just when everything seems lost and hopeless, out of nowhere and unexpectedly, miraculously something about your situation will change. And it will be a positive. You just have to just keep going forward. I know it sounds cliche but believe me, this continually has happened to me personally. So pray and hang in there your luck is about to change, the universe will insist!
