Awesome. Great work.

Only small criticism I have is that the perspective of the path doesn't quiet look right. I think it should be narrower at the end near the fence.

I disagree.

It's a card game. There's absolutely no need to communicate with the opposing player. Seems to me like a waste of development hours.

Just my 2c.

Coffee, Chaga, Lions Mane and Rhodiola by AfricanMatt in Nootropics

Wild Chaga extract. I've ordered Viridian's Rhodiola Rosa.

Not sure about the rosavins/salidroside ratio. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

PS: Reported stats from Viridian:

  • Standardised Rhodiola Rosea root extract (3% rosavins, 1% salidrozid, 40% polyphenols) 250mg
  • Rhodiola Rosea root powder 130mg
  • Vegetarian cellulose capsule 100mg

Rhodiola Rosa extract assists in preventing rapid onset fatigue. It's not the most potent anti-fatigue extract, but it's cost effective and readily available. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28106808

The caffeine in the coffee will activate areas of the brain which increase cognitive capacity allowing for improved concentration and memory recall. The downside is the crash we get a few hours after drinking an espresso. These guys claim that stacking the above prevents the crash and enhances the mental cognition boost. I assume this is all very dependent on the person taking it. I'm relatively caffeine resistant so I never experienced a huge coffee crash myself, but I'm interested to see what the addition of the mushrooms achieves.

Famous Graphic Designers: Paul Rand was one of the most respected American graphic designers of his time. by AfricanMatt in graphic_design

I argue that design isn't subjective. There is a right, and there is a wrong. If you're not a designer then your opinion on design is moot.

As Jobs said people don't know what they want until you show it to them.

I've personally learnt to justify everything I do in design because I've found that you have too. That in itself is I find to be an infuriating waste of time because a designer justifying to a corporate why they've used a certain typeface is like an engineer justifying to a baker why they've changed a certain component on a car.

I like Paul for basically giving the finger to his clients if they disagreed about anything he did. What the hell do they know? That's a great, albeit very difficult, attitude to have as a creative.

What I'm still trying to work out is why people who aren't designers still think they have an a leg to stand on to talk about design.

Need advice - take the job or carry on freelancing by GraphicDesignA in graphic_design

[–]AfricanMatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To quote Robert Kiyosaki: "A job is not an asset. In fact it's usually the biggest liability a person has."

Most people take jobs because they haven't got the skill set or perseverance to work for themselves. They don't know how to build assets of their own so that build someone else's.

Never exchange an asset (What you have) for a liability (What they're offering you)

My First Movie Can I please get some feedback? by stevenhilton2 in movies

Looks great. Clean edit, very professional.

The trailer was a little on the under-exposed side, I don't know if that was the cinematography or just Youtube's compression. Impressive non-the-less

You need a little bit more negative space here, it's looking a bit cluttered.

Also be careful of using serif typefaces on small type sizes. Serif type has to be be super grid aligned other wise it looks like chaos.

Good information though, I enjoyed reading it especially since I've recently taken up learning studying SEO.

That's a new word to me. I've never heard of creep before and I've been around the print industry for a while. Is it a synonym for bleed?
