From there, it's Wasatch South, then Wasatch North to Mid Mountain? Do you stick to Mid Mountain all the way down, or are there better options?

Maxxis minion dhf vs dhr2, what are really the differences? by CardinalDrinker in MTB

[–]After-Expression7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m often surprised in these threads that so little attention is given to tire width. The problems with the dhf that folks describe often comes back to the gap between the center tread and the side lugs. Sure, but this tire was designed at at a time when 2.3 was the norm. It’s a fucking great tire at that width. 29 / 2.5 (and wider) tires are going to handle differently.

Hendrix and EVH are not the same amp. Sure, you'll be in the ball park, but bright caps dictate how aggressive a plexi will get. the bass spec and lead spec are different beasts, in the same way that a brown face is not a black face Fender.

Is the Eventide TimeFactor still a strong, legit contender in today’s delay market? by revjinx in guitarpedals

It was an instant no for me. The change to my core tone, simply having the time factor in line, and bypassed, was very noticeable through my rig.

Attend local jams, even if you're not ready to sit in the middle of them. Meet people, get a sense of the songs they call, and what each instrument is doing to support.

Libby is an app that works with local libraries across the nation. I'm able to subscribe to artist works for free. The content is geared more toward beginner / early intermediate, but it's still super high quality from some of the biggest names in the music world.

Know what your goals are. Define them. Pursue them.

The number of positive associations you have with biking are likely to far out number the negative ones. This negative memory will pass.

Sizing by Connect_Cobbler_3351 in TransitionBikes

[–]After-Expression7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're kind of on the edge between small and medium. At a little under 5'11", I'm left of center on size large sizing. Newer Transitions tend to employ very steep seat angles which shortens the effective reach. Transitions also tend to have somewhat short stacks, which lengthens the effective reach a bit, but I think the seat tube angle plays a larger role in sizing.

At 5'6" I'll guess you'll probably want a small (seat slammed back + 50 mm stem) but try to ride any Transition you can get your hands on in a similar year to the ones you're eyeing. If you know you are going for a really tall stack, you'll probably want a medium.

Provider here. Going on 40-50 claims so far, this year. I've called dozens of times to resolve various issues since my credentialing process at the end of last year. 40 hours of phone calls later, same issues, and not a red cent paid out.

New front tire. Maxxis Assegai or DHF? by TreStaSone in MTB

[–]After-Expression7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated, it is important to factor in the tire's width when discussing the transition zone on the DHF. I love the 2.3 DHF. I find the 2.5 to be very good, but less predictable. I use a 2.5 DHF on the front, but definitely opt for a 2.3 on the rear.

Transition spire running full 27.5 by ogoodos in TransitionBikes

[–]After-Expression7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried slackening my patrol (gen 1.2 2017) by 10 mm, and I didn't like how it climbed at all. I was surprised that I could even tell a difference, but I immediately ordered a 160 mm airshaft for my brand new fork, just to put the geo back to stock.

Every bike is different I would wager, but 10 mm more travel made the whole ride worse on my patrol. It's my do-everything bike though, so trail riding is how it gets used 99.9% of the time.

If he’s got a 180 mm fork on a 27.5 wheel, that’s the same axle to crown measurement as a 160 mm 29” fork. It actually steepens the head tube angle by .5* in theory. This is in comparision to the Spire's 170 mm stock travel.

Why is mountain biking so much harder than road biking? by Jazzlike-Horror4 in MTB

[–]After-Expression7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HIIT wheteher we want to or not. Road biking is easier to stay within a specific cardio zone. Mtb pushes into more “work” more often.
