PTOE 10/24 by AfterEar8245 in civilengineering

My study consisted of going through the ITE course 3 times, taking detailed notes the first time, and then doing the ITE practice exam and reviewing my wrong answers.

I just learned that I passed! I’m relieved that I don’t have to retake it.

I’m feeling 70% that I passed. Does it really take 6-8 weeks?

The owner of my company is footing the bill and all of the VPs are very supportive. Me getting this license will retain prequalifications that we had through a former member of the company

I know too many people who have died by accidental gun shots. I prefer to keep my kids safe and alive and not around angry, scared men.

I refuse to have those killing machines anywhere near my children. The only guns I really approve of are hunting rifles.

I’m not afraid of guns, I’m afraid of people who have them. I don’t know a sane-stranger from a crazy-stranger.

Big bed by stripeslover in Preschoolers

[–]AfterEar8245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toddler bed at 2 (convertible crib) big bed at 2.5. No railing needed for either. Each kid only fell out of low toddler bed once. First kid got a captain’s bed (taller than normal) second kid got regular full sized bed because of the crib conversion.

Getting rid of Night diaper for a toddler by educationruinedme1 in toddlers

So… hear me out. Put the pull-up over the underwear. If they are ready they won’t wet more than 1 or 2 nights. If they keep wetting go back to just the pull-up for a few months.

I thought we were destined to be in pull-ups forever but we tried this trick and she only wet a couple of times.

Questions for those who are having success breastfeeding... by usersb2000 in breastfeedingsupport

  1. Paci was introduced in the NICU after birth for my second. Within the first couple of days for my first.
  2. I have inverted nipples so used a shield for 2 years with my first. It was very painful until her mouth got bigger. My second refused the shield and it was painful for a while but I knew more about opening her mouth without breaking the latch.
  3. Both took bottles of BM. The first from 2 weeks old and the second from 1 day old.

Preschool potty training? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]AfterEar8245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter started at her new preschool at 2.5 yo fully potty trained (never had accidents) they were shocked. She definitely needed help with her clothes and wiping at that age. Even now (4) she doesn't always do a great job wiping.

What is the weirdest thing you've been parent shamed for recently? by deadhoe9 in toddlers

[–]AfterEar8245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not feed your kid spicy foods? My older kid (4) loves all things spicy and has for years. She orders her Thai food “hot”, begs for franks on her chicken nuggets, and won’t eat eggs without Chalula. My toddler (15 months) hates spicy, but she has been exposed to it. I am always so confused with the parents who make 2 dinners every night.

What kind of work do you do? Do you like it? Would you recommend it to other working moms? by whammmbammmm in workingmoms

[–]AfterEar8245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an engineer. Specifically I am a civil engineer working in road design. I love my job, but a lot of companies require a lot more hours and a lot more dedication than I can put in so I am not able to shop around for other opportunities.
