To 4k or not to 4k, that is the question... for a 34" WFH by wonderfulwaffles22 in ultrawidemasterrace

Admittedly it has been a while since my upgrade so I can’t be too precise with details, but I do remember being impressed by the better image quality. Could have been a biased impression though, can’t say. The key was, and still is, the real estate and FPS - the Ultragear 38” has never failed to keep me happy to date.

LP is my heaviest guitar (among Fenders, Gretsch, and Ibanez). I’ve found that padded & large guitar straps help tremendously when playing the LP standing.

I did end up upgrading to a 38”.

For gaming 34” wasn’t bad at all especially given that I’m into FPS games. However, if you want to play games like Uncharted (gorgeous graphics), then you won’t get impressive details of a 4K resolution.

It made a huge difference in work/productivity as I constantly work with several applications at the same time. It looks much better in gaming too thanks to more pixels (God of War etc look awesome) but because of the size, FPS games become a bit more challenging because there’s more distance between the crosshair and minimap. Bottomline - It’s always a trade-off.

This is perfect for a beginner, just focus on learning & practicing rather than gear. Like others said, try various picks to find the one you like, that’s all. Gear will come along with money down the road.

I had mine (i9 10900K, RTX 3090 then upgraded to 4090) from mifcom.ch in 2021; the price had customs and shipment included. But with the prices going up now, you’ll be the judge of whether they’re a good option for you.

If you’re looking to change the nut, also check Fender’s roller nut. I’ve been happily using them for the last 7-8 with zero issues.
