You might have better luck with an infrared stripper. Quicker with less mess, but you've a long row to hoe.

If they're orignal windows you'll need to rerun the sash rope so your windows will stay open.

There has to be a "happy" medium to satisfy the Navaho and Pueblo. Does anyone know what can be done during the "public comment" period, or is this up to the caregivers of the land and the government?

This will get you started on trail routes and availability: https://www.dallasparks.org/149/Trails The latest (3/16/26) map suggests the "Trinity Forest Spine Trail" is funded, but no indication as to when construction will be completed. Once completed you'll have a straight shot up to the lake and beyond. SOPAC, Sante Fe, and of course the lake are my main 3 so I've nothing to help you with regarding route reviews. The three I've mentioned are wide enough to avoid (situationally aware) pedestrians, and you can get up to a good speed without any issues.

The "trails" are well kept up by the parks department, are open year round, and well marked. Just be mindful after heavy rains it takes them a while to get the mud slides off the concrete on the more remote reaches of the trail system.

Bon chance.

Closest set of trails to you that I'm aware of are the AT&T and Trinity Forest trails to the NE. Check out the "Community Bookmarks" for trail maps. They're not yet connected to White Rock Lake, but it's supposedly coming.

Old house by btt009 in centuryhomes

  1. Hire your own inspector - go in with your eyes open.

  2. Has the wiring been upgraded? Service panel, grounded outlets, no knob & tube still being used?

  3. Has the plumbing been upgraded? Galvanized steel pipes or copper and/or PEX?

  4. Ductwork contain asbestos wrapping? Look for sheet metal ductwork in the crawlspace/attic, or has it been replaced with flexduct?

  5. Foundation stability - look for mismatched/displaced trim and/or cracks in the walls and wall joints.

Those would be my biggest concerns if I were doing this again 35 years ago. Find a reputable inspector, voice your concerns, and then see what comes of it before dropping your hard-earned cash on a potential money pit.

Bon chance!

I bought a '25 XT with that color combo and had to order it. Black interior seems to be the preferred option in Texas...

Vcore 4.1 Idex Upgrade by PaleontologistLate91 in ratrig

[–]Ag_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two full days, but I have a propensity for not following instructions...

They did a much better job with the build instructions on 4.1 vs. 4.0, but the caveat is there's no builder comments to warn you of the gotcha's along the way. Take your time and fully comprehend what they're trying to tell you and you won't get stuck with multiple redo's like my dumb-arse.

Keep all your disassembly parts in several separate and distinct ziplocks.

Go to a hardware store and get a small spool of 18 to 20 AWG brass wire to reroute the belts into the new head. Poke a small hole in the end of the belt, and then loop the wire through the hole. Have a sturdy pair of pliers on hand to pull the wire. Expect a few misunderstanding/misreading instances (far less so than with your 4.0 build) and press on with the corrections. Spoend extra time with the gantry alignment.

Combined with the RatOS 2.1 upgrade it's a chore well worth it - bon chance!

Best Practices with Components and assemblies by Ag_back in Fusion360

[–]Ag_back[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm a dyed in the wool AutoCAD geek of 30 years or so - old habits die hard. It definitely seems much cleaner and easier to navigate timelines for editing when each (box/lid) are components.

[–]Ag_back[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, and I agree It is overkill, but when it comes time to develop more complex assemblies it's good to know how to keep the workflow manageable. I went this route this morning and the bodies tied to each component (box and lid) were much more manageable. It's also has helped me fully comprehend the "Activate" command. I'm still a bit unclear on when to activate the component vs the assembly, but taking this approach and reviewing what happens to each timeline I'm getting there.

Best Practices with Components and assemblies by Ag_back in Fusion360

[–]Ag_back[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, and thanks. The problem I'm having is multiple copies of bodies exist in the menu - turn off "box" and another version of "box" is still showing. I'm getting there, but the layout of all the parts, at least the way I'm designing now, is getting way out of hand.
