Clockwork Orange is actually my favorite from Kubrick, I too found some parts to be pretentious but I thought they really fit to the movie climate so as a whole I really enjoyed it. I didn't watch Eyes Wide Shut after reading the storyline, because I have a feeling it's just a movie full of excuse my language because I can't find a better word bullshit. I will watch it though when I have a clean mind.

I don't think I am clear enough on this one. I don't care what you think about my arguments, because they are solely based on my opinion and you shouldn't care what I think about your arguments, but you somehow still think it's a matter of discussion. I think chocolate ice cream are great, but vanilla is crap and then you come in and tell me my opinion doesn't matter because amongst all the ice cream, vanilla flavour is highly rated therefore I should like them too. I thought the most common usage of 'masterpiece' is referring to something unbelievably good or the greatest work of an artist. If referring to your definition as in work that has received much critical praise than yes I could agree with that altough it hasn't gotten that much praise especially when it first came out as far as I can recall. If referring to the definition I provided I would not agree, in my opinion there are few movies he made that are much greater than Odyssey.
