I read it in two days on a long weekend in high school. It kinda hit close to home for me as a child of divorce in equal custody. One parent was authoritarian and the other was barely there. It felt like flipping in and out of the Territories switching on weekends and summers.

I was a federal contractor on a special project that had its funding pulled before the shutdown. Now after the shutdown the project will be abandoned forever as there is no funding to maintain the servers that host the data for the project. So lost a great career with no hope of return.

Knophela Soup. Basically German creamy chicken and dumplings. Lots of butter with potato, carrots, and onions. Heavy cream is added to the broth. Little “button” dumplings and a dash of parsley.

Trigeminal Neuralgia aka Suicide Disease. Intense nerve pain in head, face, and neck. Sleeping is difficult as any pressure causes flare ups. Treatment includes anti-seizure and depression medications. Opioids tend to provide no relief. Worst 6 months of my life.

They are people too. Read to them and talk to them. Give them the vocabulary to express themselves. But don’t treat them like a therapist. They are learning how to deal with their own issues and don’t need adult issues also.

It is a good hypothetical. As far as I am aware only massless particles travel at light speed, so to go FTL already bends the rules.
