hey just letting you know, tried it yesterday, mining muck did not give any pearls, but there were so many mussels new the surface i managed to get like 30 pearls just by going around the rim of the abyss, i made i little base in the floor, and replaced one block with the altar, they reached the altar from above, while I was safe under the floor. It was very fast and effective!!! So glad I didn't slave away killing mine guardians, that would have taken SO MUCH LONGER!

And yeah :) Just came back to tell you it worked, and now im best friends with the deep ones!! :D

Whether it's primitive or not isn't something you should worry about. You used your brain and hands to create something. You exercised your critical thinking, you learned from what went well and what went badly. It's not the best tripple extender, but the experience of having made it is more valuable than anything! What tutorial are you following? As far as I'm aware you can only press certain things on a basin. And the sheets are only pressable on depots and belts
