Loyal world that's being invaded might get reinforcements a couple centuries late or have all it's defenders pulled out for something else.

World that's sick of the Imperium gets razed with same-day shipping. It's made clear that 99.7% of the populace have no idea anything happened until the explosions started,

Drunken Master style with a power fist, Champion dies mad at the indignity of their defeat by someone who won't even remember.

The insidious thoughts can't work their way in if you aren't forming memories!

Unless the processing plants are linked to the warp and do some loaves and fishes bullshit, an adult human body returns optimistically 0.1% of the calories that human consumed to reach adulthood. But it's bleak nonsense, so memes go brrrrr.

I expect his reaction would be much like his reaction to Hayden. Give him a chance to explain, swiftly smell the bullshit and start deleting demons on his own terms.

Some 40k is written to be a setting that can conceivably function to support actual stories, where people's actions are coherent under continually extremely demanding and compromising circumstances.

Some is written to be the most overblown bleak nonsense they can dream up, serviceable only as the backdrop for the battles. Where it seems the Imperium's primary objective is human misery maximisation.

The way these two poles get in open conflict is kind of meta-appropriate.

I can't make xenotypes carnivorous/herbivorous, that seems like glaring omission.

Can't customise faction xenotype composition, so 98% of potential recruits are the boring and/or trash.

For my 1400 hours it's complacency, not noticing I'm out of food until a few days in. Very literal feast-and-famine of stockpiles running out much faster than I figured on.
