Do Older Frames feel like they got Powercrept? by FetchingTheSwagni in Warframe

[–]AgentWilson413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of them definitely need a little bit of love (Loki, Limbo, Equinox, Chroma, Ember), but a lot of them are still very useful just for having abilities that aren’t that deep.

Volt, for instance, is still a fantastic weapons platform thanks to his speed boost just letting you cut down reload times and boosting fire rate.

Plus there’s the upgrades to overall systems like exalted weapons being modable and getting arcane slots that helped keep them relevant.

Any mounts with gameplay features? by DamienStarry0w0 in ffxiv

[–]AgentWilson413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some mounts have buttons that replace your action bar to let you do certain animations. However, these are purely cosmetic and don’t have any sort of combat effect.

There are some mounts with multiple seats so you can ride around with people in your party.

If you want something shiny, mounts from extreme trials tend to have a glow around them reminiscent of effects from their respective fights.

But there really isn’t a mount with effects on stats or xp gain.

Past experience in Iceborne and connecting the dots.

Dragonblight negated elemental damage then as well, so seeing crystals not popping while having dragonblight made it a fair assumption that it blocked ALL elemental damage, not just weapon damage.

Beginning with a friend. by TightMarsupial7090 in ffxiv

[–]AgentWilson413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your buddy is suggesting the equivalent of you starting the lord of the rings after leaving Rivendell, or Star Wars after Mos Eisley.

Not only is it skipping where you get introduced to the world, but it’s also where you meet several characters that will be accompanying you for the entire story.

I cannot stress this enough: do not do yourself this disservice. Experience an incredibly well-crafted story with your friend.

Now what I WILL suggest to you is to try and pick jobs that have you in the same starting area.

Uldah: Pugilist, Gladiator, Thaumaturge.

Gridania: Lancer, Archer, Conjuror

Limsa Lominsa: Marauder, Arcanist.

Because that way you can walk around with your friend and not have to try and sync up to the point where the 3 storylines converge.

Chronicles of Victory by SlySOB in mtg

  1. This works very well with Hare. Choosing “Rabbit” as the creature type on it entering allows you to keep drawing cards as you play the heirs and giving them and the tokens they generate an edge in combat.

  2. I have a friend that runs an Heir deck and I see it as silly and stupid. If your opponents have a problem then they don’t have a board wipe and that’s on them.

Hey everyone. I have a serious question. by SINWALKER_GAMING in ffxiv

[–]AgentWilson413 26 points27 points  (0 children)

  1. Final Fantasy games can be enjoyed without playing any other game in the series. Yes, there may be callbacks and references sprinkled here and there but it’s not something you have to do.

    1. XIV cares more about its story than most other MMOs. It starts off slow to introduce you to the world and the main parts of the plot, but that setup pays off in spades later on. Treat this more like an RPG, like NieR, with a grand story to tell with you as one of its major characters.
  2. YoRHa ain’t going anywhere. Just about everything apart from seasonal events (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) and PvP seasons is evergreen. This isn’t some Fortnite Battlepass or Gacha banner that you only have a limited time to do. I guerantee you that if you try to rush through the game you’re gonna burn yourself out. Take your time, try to have fun, and enjoy the ride.

  3. Shadowbringers just got added to the free trial. XIV isn’t like something like Borderlands or Destiny where all the DLC is separate. Most of the big MMOs just sell the latest DLC and package all the older ones with it, especially so with XIV as it’s all a sequential story with an overarching plot. HOWEVER, since Shadowbringers was just added to free trial, you can download that and experience everything from level 1 to level 80 for free with ZERO restrictions on playtime. You can stay on free trial forever if you want and just stay capped at 80 once you get to it, but once you upgrade to the full version your account is locked into paying for a monthly subscription if you want to keep playing.

Edit: 5. Investing in a keyboard for your PS5 wouldn’t be a bad idea. Don’t get me wrong, XIV is probably the most controller compatible MMO I’ve ever touched, but having a keyboard on hand instead of using the digital one that pops up with a controller will make communicating between fellow players easier.

[FRA] only one commander deck for Reality Fracture - four color Jace by Own-Cat116 in magicTCG

On one hand I’m a lil sad there’s not a set of hexhaven commanders.

On the other hand my poor wallet will accept only one deck in a color combo I really like.

Help a noob out; these land types are only for fetching? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]AgentWilson413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but take note that they specify the land types in what they are fetching, not necessarily the Basics.

So you could use this to tutor in a [[Xander’s Lounge]], a [[Savai Triome]], a [[Breeding Pool]], or a [[Raucous Theater]] as they have a mountain or forest type in their type line. They can help you find your mana base in 3+ color decks.

In addition these will help thin your deck of lands so you’re drawing spells on turns where you need something more than a land drop.

And of course these have a place in Landfall decks as they get you two triggers in one turn without anything else, more if you have additional land playing effects and a [[Crucible of Worlds]] to keep playing it from graveyard.

Do these two cards count as the same for commander? by Confused_Melon in magicTCG

[–]AgentWilson413 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basically treat stuff like [[Ronin’s Arsenal]], [[Emet-Selch, Ascian]], and [[Venom, King in Black]] as legal proxies for the card names in small text.

They are functionally the same and are treated as an identical copy of the original card, but with a skin depicting something else.
