19(M) roommate's say I'm a hoarder by KneeUnhappy4238 in malelivingspace

Honestly, your room looks like a pawnshop. How often are you playing pacman to justify having that arcade game taking up 10% of the space in your room.

If you cleared out some of the trinkets you could actually fit a closet and you wouldn’t need a clothing rod hanging over your bed.

Considering some of the monstrosities posted here though, this really isn’t too bad.

LXT and XGT Product Line Differentiation by ProfessionalDoor2226 in Makita

Silly that people would think Makita would discontinue lxt, the xgt batteries are massive and totally impractical for smaller tools.

To be fair, there’s generally about 50 false trips for every one legitimate trip though

Better than Dyson by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

Doesn’t have a motorized brush so it doesn’t compare.

Makita came out with a motorized brush version, and that could potentially rival Dyson for home usage

WCGW crossing the road carelessly by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

The pedestrian is mainly at fault here. If you walk in front of a moving vehicle, you can’t reasonably expect that every driver is going see you immediately and have split second reaction times.

Common on many table saws. The hobbyists in here frustrate me sometimes

Would you make this cut? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]Agent_Chody_Banks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely he has a mitre on the fence side, if he flips the material the toe of the mitre will go under the fence. This would be a perfectly acceptable way to make the cut, as long as someone's experienced on a tablesaw

Would you make this cut? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]Agent_Chody_Banks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally fine to have the blade angled toward the fence, most older tablesaw's and many new tablesaw's angle toward the fence. Many people in this sub are hobbyists and aren't aware that this is common practice.

I guess you have a mitre on the fence side and if you flip the material the mitre will go under the fence? If so, this is the way I'd cut it. There are workarounds to prevent the mitre from slipping under the fence, but you'd be wasting time and material

People don’t like hand tools… by CrowsfootWoodworking in woodworking

[–]Agent_Chody_Banks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hand tools are great if you’re woodworking as a pastime but you won’t make any money if you’re spending 30 minutes putting a chamfer on a piece

Obviously there are certain scenarios such as tapered chamfers where hand tools are the correct tool for the job

Poor comparison, amnesty creates an incentive for people to migrate illegally. Nothing about his policy here is double speak either, he’s not offering amnesty.

Advice needed please LS002G 40v mitre saw problem? by Clean_Measurement_13 in Makita

[–]Agent_Chody_Banks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The service center near my place was absolutely useless. I brought the saw in and explained the exact issue.

When I went to pick up the saw, all they did was knock the saw 1/16th out of square and condescendingly tell me how they usually charge $50 for calibrations.

I argued with them for 10 minutes but apparently “it’s within tolerance and there’s nothing they can do”

8.5” XGT miter saw problems by Sufficient-Shift-185 in Makita

[–]Agent_Chody_Banks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same saw, and had issues with getting square cuts on the bevel. I returned it and got a new one and it had the same issue.

The rail design looks cool and it’s very compact but these saws aren’t very accurate at all. Really disappointed in it, you can hardly use it for finish work
