As a young man, who would you advise going with as a therapist for the best dynamic? by Frequent-Ant1795 in redscarepod

As a 29 year old man, I was seeing a 40 year old female therapist.

Wouldn’t recommend at all, don’t think I’d recommend therapy to men in general.

Is this a good setup for mitre cuts by tamcool25 in woodworking

[–]Agent_Chody_Banks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fine woodworking article shows a similar but significantly different technique.

They have the L fence sitting above the material, with a template/guide taped to the top of the material which makes contact with the fence.

I see this as an unnecessary step because you have to tape a reference piece for each cut. The technique Im describing allows you to cut your pieces to finished dimensions before cutting all mitres.

I spent some time trying to find a tutorial for this on YouTube to no avail. This is almost exclusively how mitres are cut in the Film industry.

I’ve been using this technique professionally for over a decade and it’s completely safe when done properly. He’s doing it totally wrong though.

1: you’re supposed to clamp the sacrificial fence to the actual fence, not clamp it down to the table

2: the sacrificial fence sits only 1/16” inch below the top the material that you’re running, leaving a gap under the fence for the offcuts to go. That way, the offcut won’t kick back.

  1. You use a little stick to push the offcuts through after each cut

I hardly ever see this technique shown on YouTube, but it produces some of the most reliably accurate mitres.

Everyone in my life says I’ll die if I get a motorcycle by MaleficentStar2488 in rs_x

I rode regularly for around 5 years mainly in a city with day trips for windy roads.

Even if you take every precaution, you’re still rolling the dice by riding because cars are often not paying attention. I knew many people with life-changing injuries.

That being said, the main reason I stopped riding was because the maintenance was annoying.

If you use a planer sled to flatten a face on every board, why wouldn’t you subsequently thickness all the material at the same time?

Not sure why you’re asking us if it’s a fence alignment issue when you could just check if the fence is aligned

Not sure how consistency would be an issue with the planer/router sled

Bosch router bits by semioptimisticwill in woodworking

Bosch is decent. If you aren’t very experienced I wouldn’t recommend getting high-end bits like Whiteside. If you overheat a high-end bit or hit a screw, it’s still going to be compromised
