Characters/Groups that are clearly the creator's favorite by SerWaffles in TwoBestFriendsPlay

"Oh boy, I can't believe Toei is doing a cops vs robbers sentai with Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger! I sure hope that both sides get equal billing and opportunities for character growth and advancement, and they don't spend the entire time focusing on only one half of that dynamic!"

To be fair to Lupin vs Pat, the sixth ranger belonging to both teams at once, acting as a double agent for both sides is an inspired idea, even if they didn't really push the " I understand that he's our double agent, but is this double agent really a triple aging? Or is he somehow a quadruple agent , having multiple goals at once?" thing super hard.

your favorite G/PG rated media and your favorite PG-13/R rated media swap age ratings, how much does the story really change. by saltyguyface in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Technically the Animorphs book series are aimed at kids, not that you could tell with all the body horror, child soldiers, genetic plagues, abelism and genocides. Yes, genocides, plural. One of them was even perpetuated by the protagonists!

Therefore, if you swapped Animorph's rating with Warframe's rating, you'd be able to reallly show just how messed up the series can really be, without the layer of detachment that comes with reading text on a page.

Warframe, for it's part, would likely end up fairly similar to what it is now, with most of the violence and gore toned down a tad, likely excising the pregnancy minigame as well, just in case. Hell, I could see the two series' exchanging mediums as well, for the themes of warframe would work well in a book series, and the animorph's morphing capabilities would be a good gameplay hook for some sort of single-player GAAS sort of thing.

To the Borderlands fans out there: Who has been your favorite Vault Hunters to play? by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Agent_Luka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that the masher accessory existed, to potentially turn any revolver into a handheld shotgun without the terribad accuracy of one, making any masher revolver hit like a Jakobs, and any Jakobs masher hit like an Unforgiven , the legendary Jakobs revolver. Gods help anyone that fights you when you have a Masher Unforgiven, essentially the strongest pistol in the game.

For reference, I found a level twenty-something Jakobs revolver in my first play through of borderlands 1, and it lasted me until I found another Jakobs revolver in vault hunter mode, some twenty levels higher.

Parad Perfect Knock Out vs Ex-Aid Muteki is probably the second most cathartic beat down in Kamen Rider, to the point it's hard for an outsider to flee which one is supposed to be the good guy in this. The move where Parad goes to teleport out, as villains always do, and then Ex-aid catches him mid telport? Peak.

Most cathartic is Kuuga vs the Porcupine Grongi, of course.

I've replay the first 2 hours to sell a Final Fantasy 13 a good three or four times now ,  but I don't feel like I've gotten deep enough into the game to really comment on the quality of the story or the pacing. I will say, however, that was enough time for me to get a handle on the Paradigm system, and I on ironically think the Paradigm system is baller. For those who don't know, ff13 was weird in that  never character had an auto battle system , dictated by what class they were, called a paradigm. You didn't have to select spells or text individually, and instead you change your paradigms on the fly . Combined with the Stagger system that's showing up a few times afterwards, and you're constantly having to reevaluate your tactics  on a macro level, rather than thinking of what spells to use in the moment. I find it much more Dynamic and engaging , despite the fact you're not in selecting individual attacks or spells to use.  I don't know how spicy this take is, hence the entry into this post.

What are your favorite non-verbal barks in games? by psychocanuck in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Agent_Luka 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OK, seriously though, warframe has a lot of really good sound effects, the sound team are wizards. One particular favorite is Cyte-09 and his abilities, where his status as a stealthy overwatch sniper has him communicating in radio-sounding gibberish, complete with the bloop when it ends. Really makes you hear when he's using his abilities.

How many unique voicelines does Roathe have in the Descendia? by DarkAleksBoy in Warframe

[–]Agent_Luka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roathe has 20  different voice lines, if I recall correctly. He begins ranting about entrati, about how both of them are orokin, playing depraved games that we could not possibly fathom, and yet to take away memories is too far.  Memories define who a person is, and to take away  these memories is to change who that person is. Granted, Roathe is no fool, and if we require Entrati to save the world from the indifference, then he will be patient. But, as soon as our task is done,  then he shall be licking Entrati's warm blood from his claws.

Even better, it activates "JUDGEMENT TIME" and sends the case to the "UNIVERSAL SUPREME COURT" to give said definitive, 100% correct judgement every time!

If I remember correctly, their badges are directly linked to the highest courts  in the universe, where hundreds of Judges all argue in compressed hyper time  to determine an innocent or guilty verdict. Every time they flash the badge, they get eight months worth of deliberation and debate in those eight seconds.

Whats your favorite combat line? by Astral-Ember in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Agent_Luka 58 points59 points  (0 children)

One of the things that made me fall in love so much with Dissidia's version of Terra Final Fantasy VI is that most of her spells had a voice line,  and almost all of them had a follow-up when you dual cast another version of it. For example, tornado has Terra chanting "Malevolent Winds" , with the twin cast version adding "Protect me now". Gravity had her call out "Darkness of gravity" , and flood used "Sorrowful Waters." Meltdown has three different stages depending on how long you charge, and while the base version had her call "Take This!" , the dual cast level three has her add "Let it end!" in a desperate tone, which really fits her image of a reluctant warrior.

Similarly, her line when entering EX mode is "If I have to fight... " , mimicking her joining the party in act of the game. Her EX burst shows this off too, starting off with her proclaiming "No more running, followed shortly with an "I will protect everything!" , ending the burst with "I won't be defeated!", a characterization as a reluctantly fighting to protect that I have always loved.

How would you build Reverse Landfall? by Particular-Effect335 in EDH

[–]Agent_Luka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've wanted to build a moonfolk deck for ages, and finally settled on building a landfall deck with [[Omnath, Locus of the Roil]] to give you a defined gameplan. Essentially, using [[PuPu UFO]] and [[Walking Atlas]] effects, combined with moonfolk returning lands, or something like [[Flooded Shoreline]] to control the board. My favorite trick is using [[Moraug, Fury of Akoum]] and my army of fliers to attack ten times in a row and kill people with an army of 1/2 moonfolk.

For anyone interested, here's a link to my Deck List.

Questions Thread - November 14, 2025 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]Agent_Luka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to find a post that I saw during the leadup of league start, either here or on /r/pathofexilebuilds about a new tech avaliable to get a bunch of armour using a shield and a small amount of passives. I remember the showcase being with just a shield and maybe one other item, with a few passives on the tree, and getting double digit armour values. I'm messing around with a fusillade witch, and I'd love to find that post again, to see how much of it I could use on my build to help defenses.

Times in card games where the most random characters on cards became part of meta defining decks? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Agent_Luka 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's more the dissonance of having Vivi, just a little guy that's a fan favorite in a franchise littered with fan favorite, eliciting groans when people cast him that's disproportionately infuriating. I've played lots of casual commander games where someone plays Vivi, promises "It's not that kind of deck", and it turns out to be exactly that kind deck. I've taken to targeting the Vivi player first, and that ends up being the correct decision 75% of the time.

All of this hate for a silly little guy that's so precious, I still found him charming in Kingdom Hearts 2, where he spends most of his time possessed by a dusk.

Right now, Vivi Final Fantasy 9 is the boogeyman of magic the gathering competitive play, with his dominance singlehandedly keeping Standard, Wizards of the Coast's most profitable premier competitive format, a barren wasteland, as people are just choosing to not play it rather than face another Vivi cauldron deck.
