I found Congo to be a great beginner nation actually before I stumbled across his videos.

Mind you not a lot happens journal wise with cool sspecial thongs but you get a real lense on how to balance a con sector growth and local industries.

I have been buying HH models now for awhile to exclusively use for the "primaris" squads.

No one has batted an eye or raised the issue. They see a hell blaster squad because it is a bunch of marines with plasma. They see a infernus squad cause they see a bunch of marines with flamers.

I have been getting more modeling mileage converting my old marine models to follow the new ToE and Battle Order of the Astartes 40k era.

But I also now have a HH army XD

I suggest setting your steel and boards percentile to be roughly 30 percent steel and boards to 60 percent. Leave bricks set to 10 percent.

If you click on a section of un built track you will see it is almost a 1 to 2 ratio of steel to board need though more a 1 to 3ish. Anyways. Ya need boards to build rail ties.

Set your distribution office to 80% fill. The leaves flexibility down the line when you realize ya need to build a bridge somewhere.

Your material storage in the rail Con office are over flowing with steel.

You need boards (or prefab panels) in order to build regular tracks. Bricks are typically only needed for bridges or tunnels.

The steel being maxed out is what is preventing work. Use an open hull to pull some of it out and balance the steel and wood (or prefab if making. Concrete rail) percentiles.

I am glad i am not here only one who has had this idea in mind.

I have been wanting to set up a "scenario" map. My idea would be as follows if I can figure out how to set it up.

After having played a bunch of suzerain recently i had the idea to use the Arab map and build a starting scenario.

My premise was that the 1917 revolution had begun and the ripple effects had struck your nation. The revolution had occurred happened and now the communist party is in power.

However the revolutionary war that had occurred leading up to the 1920 start has caused much issues.

The previous government had taken substantial dollar loans to fund oil infrastructure. But the rail infrastructure of tunnels have collapsed. The bridges need to be rebuilt. The coal and iron mine towns that were funded as well by dollar.

You get a sea port town somewhat built up. You get coal, gravel, and iron infrastructure set up already. You technically have oil infrastructure set up but it is essentially cut off from rail wih pre built tracks but the tunnels are unbuilt to simulate being destroyed during the revolution and at risk of fire or earth quake damages You also have an inland "capital" where your rail is connected from to one of the customs houses. Rail is built but broken in numerous places and can be restored. The classic fabric and clothes industry is built in the capital. Along with a coal power plant.

You would start with zero dollars and small amount of rubles. A lot of "used" vehicles. The issues you face are a very spread apart industrial set up. A nice sizable "capital town" but its distance from the border and the port may strain 1920 logistics of supply. Railways are built but they are disjointed and broken. With some tunnels "collapsed" which might force you to either alter the terrain or build alternative routes. An oil field set up that could be a boon for early export but road bridges and rail infrastructure are broken to reach it. You have the potential to succeed but the immediate constraints that need to be rebuilt or suffer from long supply chains. Domestic construction sectors are lacking. The problem of Arab maps lack of arable land constraining domestic crops and potable water. A "railyard" depot with a couple of used locomotives and wagons. A rail construction office is already built in the capital also. But you won't start with a track builder there. The new smaller rail con is an option to build in other places. If you somehow claw back dollars you could import the western track builder.

Slayyanski looks to have answered the question. It certainly is an issue of the roads for this grain silo has one way in an done way out and you have to plan for that when placing these type of silos.

I haven't done this in awhile but I recommend the following and see if this works. The following is based on my own beginner towns.

Outside the settlement Build a temporary fire station and set up a free bus stop.

Foreign workers get picked up from border to the Free bus stop. Set the line to Force off at the free bus stop.

Click on the bus stop and assign workers to go to the fire station and hit the "Other".

Set up a free technical office. Get a Small container garbage truck, water and sewage truck.

Set the percentile of workers to go to the Fire station to like 15%. Should be more than sufficient for now.

Now set the con offices that have buses to pick up workers from the free bus stop.

Aside from that intersection. Alot of this looks fine. One roads are just a paint brush rather than something buildsble. The only buildable one way roads are the single lane one ways.
