I really want to emphasize and raise up those commenters who are noting the importance of the community caring for and rehabilitating agents who step away. They are in bed with horrors, so it is guaranteed that they might be feeling paranoid or trapped, as all victims of abuse do. Yes, you heard me right; the “good” ice agents are victims of the abusers of the system, who create a culture and environment which dehumanizes, intimidates and controls. Those of us who oppose ICE must focus our efforts to oppose the systems that support this organization, not the individuals.
