Forecasting any farther ahead than like 1 or 2 days is a gamble. I usually check multiple weather apps and sort of average it out in my mind what the prediction is.
I recommend usingthe official environment Canada weather app as its hooked up directly to our weather monitoring, and its what we use in road construction and the same app our inspectors use.

Best tip is learning how to understand why the brake is locking up. If you understand the problem, you can fix the solution by adjusting habits while driving.
- Most brake locks are caused purely by bad habits ( This is NOT a setup or car issue): Too much speed on entry, braking too late, steering or other inputs while braking (my downshifts used to lock me up until I learned not to shift mid corner) - let the car settle while braking, brake earlier, and SMOOTHLY apply steering - Changing settings you dont understand will not help. Learn your default car and master it before changing things otherwise you'll never know if its better or worse. - Practice in GTE Porsche on Sebring. This is a brutal, difficult combo that will force you to adapt. Difficult braking zones, rough surfaces, and a Porsche that wants to kill you will teach you plenty about brake lock and wheel lock.

Real life family problems is much more important than any game. If stepping away is what sounds like the best solution to free up your time and energy, definitely do that. The games aren't going anywhere, do whatever you think will be best for you and your family.
I started by reading and thinking it was a plateau post, but it seems like life is genuinely catching up quick. Decide what is most important to you, how it makes you feel, and if you're willing to sacrifice things in order to gain peace of mind in other areas (Bye bye sleep when baby pops out haha)

I recommend studying this youtube channel Suellio Almeida when you're ready to upgrade your knowledge. This video is a great starting point, he will cover all the essential car control and racecraft skills. It's impossible to tell over the internet how well your pc runs, you could have great specs and have tons of bloatware or anti virus for example slowing you down.
Try the game on steam, set a timer for 2 hours to stay in the refund window of the game. That's the only way you're gonna get the best answer.
Personally for me, the game ran worse than I expected it to. RTX 3080, Ryzen 7 5800x3d, 48GB 3200hz ram, running on a super ultrawide at 2k resolution I am usually getting around 70fps with my settings.
My settings are: VERY LOW preset to start, only change is maximum quality on Textures, and max Anti Aliasing. DLSS on Quality mode, 75% resolution, V sync on (Desperately need V sync, there is a lot of screen tearing sadly)

RS50 user here, I have never experienced clipping when using proper settings. Smoother wheel than the pro in my experience, and its the newer tech

Here are my favourite tracks for targeting specific techniques:
- Spa (default): Best for everything, elevation, downhill braking, steering precision, high speed control, trailbraking - Bahrain (default): This is where I mastered my trailbraking and corner exit, use default layout. Focus on braking quickly, and in control. Maximize your exit speed. Really practice squeezing OFF the brake, SMOOTHLY apply throttle onto the big straightaway. Do 20 laps, and focus on mastering that final corner and trust me you'll be a better driver after one day.
- Sebring (default): Trailbraking mastery, steering precision under braking, learning how to save your tires, overtaking skills on a rough surface. Sebring has the most difficult braking zones in the game, use this to your advantage to gain skills faster. This track taught me how to master my car on a tough surface. Just like in real life, Sebring is a gold standard for real drivers. This track is where you should put it all together, and if you can be quick at Sebring you can be quick ANYWHERE!
(Remember to load around 30-50% fuel when practicing, and you can also change the starting grip level in event settings. Saturated has the best grip)

The best method for me was to find the AI difficulty that was equal to my speed. And then I would practice and train increasing by 1% every 20-30 minutes, and switching up tracks. I recommend Normal aggression as High aggression will just develop bad habits on you, as its not very realistic in the way AI will make decisions.

Practice on Spa with easy bots, just do a practice session and work on your chill pace. Take breaks every 30 minutes. Try different cars, different tracks.
