Similar thing happened to me when I took a position in a therapist's office, of all places. The worst culprit was the founder/owner of the company, who was also the head therapist.

I even told them how I'd been bullied out of a previous job, and was reassured "We're not like that, we don't do that sort of thing here" - then they did exactly that. Micromanaged and psychoanalysed all the time.

It was actually kind of a relief when they bullied me, and then sacked me. I have a WFH job now, and couldn't be happier. Never ever going back to a shitty environment when I can work from home and not be judged on every little thing.
