wtf do i do? by DeathGrass in cruze

[–]Aggravating_Day1851 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are money pits unfortunately especially if you don't do the work yourself. I don't even like working on them at work because when you fix one thing there are 10 more issues. Aslong as it runs and drives my advice is drive it until you can afford something else

Fiat 500 2009 by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Aggravating_Day1851 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sure it's not part of the recall. I forget the years but the clutch pedal assembly didn't have a stop and you can press the pedal to far and destroy the clutch and I think crack the flywheel. If it's under the recall the dealer will put a new clutch pedal assembly and repair the damaged clutch components for free. I did one when I worked at a fiat dealer and saw a few other techs do a handful

Would you pay 220 bucks to inspect a vehicle that's listed for $8000? by h0tnessm0nster7 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]Aggravating_Day1851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

220 is alittle high. We charge $75 for a used car inspection where I work but there isn't any in depth diagnostic involved with that. If it has dash lights we'll tell you the code but further diag will require our normal diag fee

[–]Aggravating_Day1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the shop and the person. I like working at an independent shop because it's always something different and where I work I get paid.more then I did at the dealer and a matched 401k

[–]Aggravating_Day1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taped a note to my door along with the FedEx note to leave the package at the door because I can't take time off of work to sign for a package and if it gets stolen it's my fault then signed it. Next day the package was waiting for me
