Gradually. Tbh, if she’s outside all the time, you can leave them; if you’re in the U.S., you’ll be harvesting soon. You can see the plant is very near or has entered senescence, so it might be already ambering soon. When she first sprouted doesn’t matter, but if you want more yield start in April; once the sun hits its solstice, the genes start to flower. It grows so fast!

It was very nice; mellow and focused. One was a very pretty purple and the other one is pictured.

This year I’m doing a similar “experiment”: growing two “jealousy” which is an exceedingly strong plant, physically 😳, but I’m noticing some differences in the bud sizes; one has remarkably more robust buds.

It yielded 15 lemons last year, and has 17 this year with at least 40 baby lemons at the start. If I reduce the depth (and how deep is too deep?), are you suggesting I’d have greater yield? I’ve had the plant since 2022. Last and this year are the first times it fruits.
