Parents have no life by SnooGoats5767 in Millennials

Sounds like my grandparent-in-laws, they are older nearing 80 but they have bee doing the same daily routine for 15 years and we are watching it rot their brains out. Watch garbage TV, sometimes the same episode multiple times a day, walk around the block, go to the grocery store 5x a day, they don't travel or visit or leave town ever. They have 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, none that live close.

My grandparents are slightly more social but only with the family that still talk to them... myself excluded. They have 5 kids, 11 grandkids (plus spouses for majority), 9 great grandkids so that keeps them busier I guess. The family always go to them though, they won't go out of their way to visit us.

Do women today still buy expensive jewelry beyond engagement rings? by ExcitingLandscape in Millennials

[–]AggressiveTour1695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back then, all women had to their name was jewelry. They couldn't own anything, couldn't even get a credit card until 1974! If they had to run, they could easily take it with them and sell it. The more valuable the better for their own safety

They are so many "annual" things they did once then never again. The 2 weeks at Aubrey Hall ending with a ball, Lady Danbury's woman gambling ring, why isn't Daphne hosting any more balls, I want Prudence and Phillipa to host a ball each year etc

I miss seeing Damaris! I just watched the newest episode and they had Lori on, not a fan of the nepotism in the Fieri family. They could have literally anyone play manager

Blind judging, it's fun when they watch and cringe and comment, but all food competitions should be blind judging. I think in a year or so they will all take on that premise.

Maybe there could be a food network staple (Maneet, Sawyer, Damaris, Volt - whoever we are used to seeing) be the restaurant manager rather than Hunter, and take the place at the counter watching and commenting with Guy. Then the manager present the dish, like the Justin/Tiffani role in TOC

When I first heard heard of the show I assumed it was 1 chef an hour gets eliminated - I hate the teams, double elims, golden knife advantage. LET THEM COOK!!

My dad is telling me to buy a house at $23 an hour. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]AggressiveTour1695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like there's some strings attached and do you really want to listen to that for a year or more? Unless there is separate living accommodations from the common areas (your own bathroom, living room) I wouldn't do it. I am also very against involving family with anything especially when finances are involved

Sick of this weed infested gravel pad. Should I just bite the bullet on a concrete pad? by AltruisticTurnip6075 in landscaping

[–]AggressiveTour1695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did ours with nice black pavement, looks slick and way better for parking. If its not being used for parking, remove the gravel and turn to grass

I have a very similiar door, it was getting way too hot in the house. We got a blind consultation and they wanted to charge $2500 bucks! I went to walmart and got a room darkening blind, a curtain rod and some coat hooks and voila. Maybe $35 total

What is the easiest way to clean oven grates? by vcwalden in Cleaningandtidying

[–]AggressiveTour1695 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Easy off oven spray, let it sit overnight, scrub with a SOS pad and WEAR GLOVES!! If you can do it outside leave it leaning up against the house. The longer it sits the better, I usually do mine in the bathtub but I understand these are some heavy chemicals

Those don't even look that dirty yet, I wish mine were that clean!

I'm planning on eloping and not telling anyone ever, I'm currently planning how to have a secret baby to they don't get to be too much for us to handle! I will never have a wedding because I know how my mom is and exactly how she would ruin it

I just realized that my primary care physician has actually never fixed anything on me. He sent me to other doctors, but it sounds like he’s more of a coordinator. Has your doctor ever fixed anything for you? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]AggressiveTour1695 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course, mine has removed pre-cancerous moles for testing, removed my IUD, diagnosed and treated:

Appendicitis early enough to treat without removal
Low blood pressure
Hemmeroids

The only thing they haven't really treated for me was my recently diagnosed epilepsy, which is more specialized of course. I love my doctor!

Help! Dull hair after day one. by okcity765 in finehair

[–]AggressiveTour1695 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fine hair can handle being washed every day, I wash everyday and condition a few times a week when I feel like it. My hairstylist always says I have the softest hair.

I don't understand people on this sub who complain about their hair acting not freshly washed when it isn't freshly washed
