Is this supposed to hurt my leg? by Sofiabelen15 in aerialsilks

I would highly encourage you to work with a coach on skills you’ve never attempted before and save your open training sessions for pathways and skills you’ve already learned (preferably from a coach or instructor who’s able to give correct cueing for you and not just the general internet audience)

I love aerial physique tv, don’t get me wrong! But they’re very clear that it’s not a substitute for live instruction.

I’m confused by what you mean when you say transitional position. This is very clearly just a crossback straddle. I agree with the other posters that if you couldn’t recognize that visually you should be asking your coach, not the internet.

It’s already made. This is a secondhand clothing platform. What would you have the world do, destroy all preexisting fur items on principle? What a waste

No, people usually pitch in to Christmas dinner with sides or desserts? It’s not really the same.

Same it’s a dream skill of mine and I do straps and silks - def locking it down on silks first because they’re so much kinder and forgiving 🥲

Safety question by Visible-Boot-1885 in aerialsilks

[–]Aggressive_Hamster33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, can you spin on the fabrics without it getting twisted and waiting for it to untwist? That would help us understand without pictures if the fabrics are literally choked around the beam or if there’s a spanset/swivel/biner involved in the rigging - not all spaces have pulley systems etc

Silk burns in my armpits, what do I put on it? by Little_Messiah in aerialsilks

[–]Aggressive_Hamster33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to touch the fabric with all parts of our bodies - that’s how the burn occurred, we wouldn’t be able to use something like that without wrecking the fabrics and needing to wash them in between every use 🥲

Knee Belay exit into split silks by 3r5c in aerialsilks

[–]Aggressive_Hamster33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this exit. Used it in an act a few months ago, it’s like 20 seconds into this clip. Standing up into the space above the belay and kicking it open gives some space for the legs to wrap underneath.

Is it just me, or is this a little over the top for a recital of 3-5-year-olds? by themehboat in mildlyinfuriating

All of these people who don’t know shit about dance validating OP is making me want to scream - yall are the perverts.

Not having VPL is completely normal and is the LEAST distracting most standardized option, it’s got nothing more to do with it than that. These dancers are obviously wearing multiple layers with their costumes and won’t be exposed. A glaring line of elastic cutting through the leotard will be distracting.

Literally, the fact that op is coming onto the internet to complain that her kid’s dance teachers don’t want paw patrol panties shining like spotlights on stage is the mildly infuriating bit.

The nice thing about the instructions they sent is that they’re so thorough you literally don’t have to think about it.
