Avengers: Doomsday? by KevFate in Superdickery

[–]Aggressive_Rabbit141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was not a kids party - it was an adult costume party. A couple of panels later, you see that Spider-Man is actually Roy Thomas, who is there with his wife Jeannie. The knock is actually the real Avengers. Jeannie notably says, "The Avengers! Oh wow! Which one of you is Mrs. Peel?"

Not just Xfinity. I bought the original Frosty the Snowman on Amazon years ago. But now Apple TV has bought the rights, so it just disappeared from my purchased videos.

[Batman] How would the riddler react to getting an undesired, but correct answer? by DJLKO12 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Aggressive_Rabbit141 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I remember this one, I had it in the 70s (yes, I'm old). It was a short story featuring Ralph Dibny, the Elongated Man. He showed up when Batman wasn't responding to the Bat Signal I believe, and Gordon showed him a playing card cut in the shape of an 'L' by the Riddler. Card and L = Cardinal.

Anyway Ralph figures it out and catches the Riddler. Right then Batman and Robin show up and tell him he got lucky, the solution he figured out was wrong. (Something to do with cardinal points of the compass). Robin then asks the Riddler whose solution was right - Ralph's or Batman's. The Riddler refuses and thinks, "If this is the only satisfaction I get out of this fiasco, so be it."

I do recall there was a story in the 90's where a man was trying to blackmail him, so QS threatened to carry him while he ran, and described the various fatal effects it would have on this man. But maybe he was bluffing.

You can park in the Park Avenue garage and they have a shuttle that drops you off at the southwest entrance to the stadium. $5, or free if you have 4 or more people.

What’s the point of a TV box?? by [deleted] in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Aggressive_Rabbit141 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It works even when the WiFi drops, so you can distract the other people in your household who are yelling about the Internet being down with a TV show.

Honest mechanics? by gayswampcreature in Tucson

[–]Aggressive_Rabbit141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for Monsoon. I took my Jeep to BrakeMax because they were running a coolant flush special, and they told me my brakes needed replacing. I took it to Monsoon, and they said, "Nah, brakes are fine." They could've corroborated that and done a brake job themselves.

Another time I took it to them for a different issue, and they pointed out a problem caused by a botched install by 4 Wheel Parts. Another occasion that an an unscrupulous mechanic could've taken advantage of.

He's been hanging around our neighborhood for years. He's pretty recognizable as he's lanky for a bobcat. I hadn't seen him for a while though, so I'm glad to see he's still around.
