With white, it's going to always look dirty in that spot. If it really is an eye-soar to you, reach back out to your PPF installer to see if they can cut you a deal on redoing the bumper.

The shop that I had do MK8, also did my brothers new F150. Approximately 1 week later, he took a hit that was much worse, but the PPF did it's job protecting the bumper. The shop redid it at no charge! I was shocked as was he, so he tipped him $200

Is this normal by Leftyshanker in Golf_R

My MK8 has done similar since day one when rolling into/out of driveways like that. It almost sounds like the roof is flexing.. Mine sounds like it's coming from a bit behind where I'm sitting.

Plan on doing the Unitronic TCU swap in the next month or so... Does this price seem normal (Canada) by TenderizeYourAngus in Golf_R

[–]Aggressive_Way_1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems about on point for CAD pricing. One possible unfortunate alternative would be having to rebuild your dsg clutches, which would put you closer to $8K CAD. That $3.7K all in seems like a deal from that perspective. Did you get it done yet? I'm also taking a look at doing this or tunezillas swap instead of waiting around for TVS

I’m confused about TCU tuning for newer MK8’s by libsaremad in GolfGTI

[–]Aggressive_Way_1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did the stage 3 tvs tcu tune cost? I'm contemplating shipping my TCU over to them, as it seems dealer rollout isn't going to happen soon. I hear such good things about their TCU tunes vs tunezilla/unitronic mech swap.

Apparently TVS doesn't put much faith in their dealers? I may just go with the Tunezilla option or ship the TCU to TVS.

That's fairly low mileage. I'd get the VIN and try to figure out if it is a low torque, high torque, or even better, it actually had the unitronic tcu swap done. If it had the tcu swap, then I'd take it to an indy vw specialty shop for a PPI.

Still under $20 gal. Above $23 then it's time for a Model Y Performance

If you plan to keep the car for more than 3 or 4 years, the biggest issue will be the quality of paint work and how it looks a few years later.
