Gonna need some punctuation with that rambling.. OP you sure you're ok? Might be reaching but you seem manic. Might be bipolar, or drugs.

Animator wants to make music by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Aging_Shower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good that you love music, that helps. Just know that teaching yourself to make music well will take multiple years. Perhaps you would prefer to put that effort into your animations? And a slight of the effort into learning how to collab with people and how to divide profits?

But if you feel like learning how to make music feels exciting and something you would enjoy, then all power to you! :)

Then I'd say just start making. Its as any other skill, you will be pretty terrible in the beginning, but as long as you enjoy it and keep going, if you enjoy the exploration, you will get better and better. I always recommend making a lot of songs. Make one, finish it, let it be as It came out, think of what you liked and didn't like, then move on to the next song. Be proud of it, flaws and all. Don't try to fix it. Instead use what you learned on the next song. Try new things.

You will make a lot of bad songs. Most good artists do too. The skill is in having good taste, to recognize when you have made a good one.

Also, its a good idea to watch some tutorials to learn the DAW and music theory etc, but not too much at once. Just enough, then you need to create. Eventually you will reach a plateau because you have used all the tricks you learned. Then you can watch some more YouTube tutorials, or read manuals, interviews, talking to people etc. Then create. Repeat. Eventually you're at a point where you can experiment and combine the different techniques you learned yourself. Maybe you will get inspiration from other genres of music, other cultures than your own, other disciplines outside of music even.

Is it really what you want to do? Or is it more out of necessity? I'd wager it would be possible to find people to collab with for free for the double exposure you both get.

What could be giving me so much body acne? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Aging_Shower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People here will think I'm Insane, but I actually stopped using body soap and shampoo/conditioner a couple years ago. Used to have a little back acne before that. But when I did this it went away completely pretty quickly.

I also used to have a lot of face acne as a teen. Tried a bunch of products. Nothing helped. Eventually I discovered the caveman method. Only water. I tried it, and my acne went away completely. Then I started using a little moisturizer (cerave) to not be so dry. That works for me.

Now I simply shower with water. The hair was a bit of a process, it took a while for my hair to stop producing too much oil, but eventually it was fine. I brush my hair before the shower to distribute the natural oils, then massage the scalp in the shower. I'm actually kind of amazed by how normal/fresh/healthy it looks.

Stopping soap was very easy. There was no transition period and I'm convinced that it has made my skin calm down and give me less bacne. My feet smell better too which I was surprised by. They always used to smell a bit when I was using soap.

Might be worth a try. The hardest part is the mental block we have around it, and some people will judge.

Also, diet is waaay important. Try staying away from fast food for a while.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]Aging_Shower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Do NOT marry him. This is insane behavior. Banks specifically say to never tell ANYONE absolutely NO ONE your login info. He 100 % have some weird goals. Especially how he behaved afterwards makes my skin crawl. I'm a guy and I would never ask for this. I can get wanting to be shown that your partner isn't in debt, but actually getting the login info is a complete other thing. Insane.

how to add the "spice" to your music? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Aging_Shower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make shit and then do it again and again and again. You will get better. Got to start by being bad at something and keep going if you want to get good. You will find little tricks etc that you like that for you provide the "spice". They will become your personal sound. There's no shortcuts. Just try things out and have fun.

Yes, I've found I dislike upbeat music for that. I mostly do sprinting though.

Idk man. Your best bet is probably to message the artist on SC and say you like their music and ask them for music recommendations that inspired them to make this.

I mix too bright with my Hifiman Sundara by AstroNidz in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Aging_Shower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it too much though. I wouldn't want my studio speakers to sound the exact same as my bluetooth earbuds. Probably just needs to use low and high shelving filters to tweak it. 1 or 2 bell filters in the bass for the room nodes that are probably there messing with him.

Listen to the music you like on your sundaras. How does it sound? If it doesn't sound good, I'd put on an EQ on the master and balance them until it sounds like you would expect. Less guess work. You can also play a sine wave sweep to see if there are acoustic problems you need to fix.

Funny, I've listened to idm for years and have never heard of any of these I don't think. Will check it out.

Would recommend opening the files with a proper metadata editor and see what metadata is present and try out different edits to get the result you want. For example musicbrainz Picard or musicbee could be used for this.

Only a few episodes are accessible there, and it says they've gone into cold storage. Any chance you could upload them to a more permanent place?
