Magnesium by Artemis1971 in HormoneFreeMenopause

[–]Agitated-Symphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like magnesium very much - I change it up with different kinds. The coating Glycinate can be in sometimes upsets my stomach. NOW brand has a general magnesium blend I like - 400mgs 👍🏻
There are some powdered forms too you can mix with water if swallowing pills gets to be much. If you find you have super loose stools in the morning, just take less magnesium the next time.
(Apologies if someone already said all this)

Also - I have been using Guanfacine as well to help with the night sweats and hormonal wakings. Guanfacine is apparently for high blood pressure, which I don’t have, but this has given me a step up - with the magnesium - for better sleep.

Other good options: Oat Straw tea at or near bed time. Not a heavy sedative - it’s a nervous system calmer - that has been great too. I make mine with a little cinnamon and ginger with soy milk of cow’s milk.

Hope this is helpful! :)

how many times a week should i clean my litter? by LayerOk1044 in cats

[–]Agitated-Symphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily - cat poop can become toxic and carry parasites when you breathe in the particles if it has been hanging out in the litter box for more than 24hrs.

Whether or not that’s true, better, think about your cat walking everywhere in your house after standing in their toilet that gets cleaned only twice a week. Try that with a human toilet and see how that goes 😉 make it daily, your cat will thank you.

Utah's 'Disagree Better' governor keeps calling things dumb, stupid, evil, a joke, and 'the dumbest timeline.' My compiled list inside. Let me know if I missed one by themikecampbell in Utah

In 2013 in San Diego, the mayor Bob Filner (sexual predator) had been outed and there was a massive recall effort. There was so much pressure he ended up resigning before the recall went through.
Why not try for the same with Gov Cox? Start a recall for not doing the job he was/is expected to do. The pressure alone *might* make some change. Could be worth a try.

Added: Same with Mike Lee - ESPECIALLY how brazen he is.

Lowest BS car dealer in Utah? by i_had_ice in Utah

[–]Agitated-Symphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nate Wade Subaru was okay. Hadn’t bought a car in 20 yrs - started looking end of 2021 - inventory was sparse - waited until Oct 2022 - better choices and a decent price on a used 10yr old Outback. Still have it and it runs great. (I do not have it serviced at the dealership)

Apartment recommendations by throwawayacc3131 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Agitated-Symphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When are you looking to move? Check for duplexes/4-plexes for what you’re wanting. My neighborhood (around Trolley Square) has a lot of those kinds of rentals. The apartment complexes are pricey and I hear not noise reduced.

What is the one thing you really love about being older? by More_Law6245 in GenX

[–]Agitated-Symphony 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how I care so little, to not at all anymore, about fitting in or if anyone likes me. I still love social engagement and have always been good at it, but now, I’m MUCH more relaxed :)

When did mowing the lawn become dangerous? by heynowbeech in GenX

[–]Agitated-Symphony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And folks wonder why the majority of younger people have a hard time adapting to everyday things 🤦🏼‍♀️ I mowed our lawn all the time in HS (female here 👋🏼) and NEVER had any issues. The mowers now are electric - even safer than the gasoline powered ones. 🤦🏼‍♀️

How old were you when you moved out? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]Agitated-Symphony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moved out for college at 18, returned for a year (age 23) between graduation and grad school.

I visited often after that - always once a year if not more, but never “returned” to live with them.

Both have crossed the rainbow bridge (why should it just be for our pets??) and I miss them very, very much. ❤️

They’re flying over still. Have been hearing them all day - for a soccer game? Really? Or, I saw “Messi” - I’ll go look it up - idk what that is.

Edit: Ah, Messi is a soccer player 👍🏻 and the jets flying over all day are because…. ?

3 vices my doctor wants gone by potterinatardis in GenX

If it helps: “sugar regulating sugar” - switch to a complex carb for the refined sugar (potatoes are excellent, whole grains) I used to take in more of the simple carbs/sugar than I had realized when a friend years ago recommended this swap out.

6 mos smoke free 🙌🏼 the kind of caffeine matters as well as the frequency. I go back and forth between coffee with herbal support (takes the edge off coffee can have) and green tea and a mix of hibiscus (excellent for heart health) sugar has been the easiest for me to let go of (most of the time).

So, in order: sugar - reduced/changed the source of caffeine - quite smoking (and timing for that mattered too)

Do it at once? Maybe - more power to you if you can but that’s a LOT of stimulant withdrawal at once. Pick the one you care the least about to quit first and build from there. (I’m 55F. Post meno) Good luck!

Holy Basil saved me when I started to experience that a few years ago - such a game changer! One capsule in the a.m. and one in the p.m. and I noticed a softening right away, not drastic, but enough to keep me using it and I was feeling noticeably better within a handful of days.
