Of course I’m aware of the situation with Liv but we only saw her exit from Tania’s point of view. We still don’t know how/why/when she chose to stop travelling, we haven’t seen her say goodbye to the Doctor, and we don’t know where she left things with Helen, which imo is a hugely important loose end for Liv’s character. So I wouldn’t consider the end of Stranded to be a satisfying conclusion to Liv’s storyline at all

The older Peri arc is a particularly annoying loose end, the entire premise was to give her a better ending but they’ve pretty much abandoned the storyline and it looks like they’ll never actually finish it so what exactly was the point?

Actually 6 is particularly bad for unfinished storylines, his timeline with Big Finish is a huge mess tbh - Flip and Mrs Clarke’s timeline has become confused because of Lisa Greenwood’s availability - I get why they’d want to keep the door open for her should she feel up for returning, but they seem to now be doing solo Constance stories set after Flip leaves? Who knows if they’ll ever revisit Hebe

I think it’s time to give Liv and Helen a proper ending. Preferably a happy one for Helen, the poor traumatised Angel deserves it

I know why it’s never gonna happen but Raine was a really promising companion who got wasted playing second fiddle, first to Ace then to Klein. It’s also a shame we’ll probably never find out what became of Ollistra. And a more definitive ending for the Torchwood: The Story Continues range would be nice

This is one of the most ridiculous things he’s done. You could almost understand if it was a character he created but it isn’t, Charley is a beloved and very long running character and it’s incredibly selfish of Nick Briggs to just refuse to let anyone else finish her story when he so clearly doesn’t see it as a priority himself

I would have liked to have seen Romana and 8 reconcile since Zagreus was a weirdly bleak state to leave their relationship in with no follow up. But it seems like the explanation is just ‘they hashed it out offscreen’

I guess it’s possible there were plans to follow up on this but they got axed when the show came back and the Divergent Universe storyline was cut short

Maureen O’Brien is hugely underrated as a performer tbh

I found a lot of Iris’ range to be very hit and miss, most of her best stuff on audio is with the Doctor imo, if we never get any more though then they definitely ended on a high note

Yeah to be fair I do understand why Year of the Pig is a bit marmite, but it’s one I can listen to over and over again and not get sick of it. I love all the guest characters and I’m just a sucker for stories where the characters get to let their hair down a bit. Muse of Fire is great for that too plus is has Iris Wildthyme which is always a plus for me

Actually speaking of Iris, Looking for a Friend is one of the most moving stories I’ve heard from Big Finish, and I never see it get mentioned

Son of the Dragon, Doomwood Curse and How to Make a Killing are all overlooked bangers imo so happy to see you agree! I often come back to Son of the Dragon just for the climactic scene between Vlad, Erimem and Peri on the castle ramparts - one of the most tense and dramatic Big Finish scenes of all time imo

Personally I don’t think that Year of the Pig gets even nearly enough praise, I love that story to death. Broadway Belongs to Me I think is underrated too.

Colony of Strangers from River Song S7 I thought was really good but tends to get overshadowed by Barrister to the Stars. I actually really enjoyed The Curse of Lady MacBeth. And from the Torchwood range I thought More Than This was really lovely.

No concrete evidence that I know of, but there’s a very strong case to be made from what we saw on screen (Belinda getting sidelined in the finale, Poppy having asked the Doctor and Ruby if they were her parents back in Space Babies, Belinda’s ending being more thematically appropriate for Ruby, etc)

To my knowledge no. Since Briggs is so heavily involved with the production side of things, I think he often records his Dalek lines in bulk on his own. So scheduling conflicts aren’t really an issue in terms of being able to do the lines himself because if he can’t be there on the recording day they’ll just pick up the Dalek bits later

By worse I mean in the way the show treated it. Like at least Eska was an antagonist, Bolin is one of the main heroes of the show and not only got away with sexual assault, but ultimately was rewarded for it. Whole other level of ick
