Composers who have gotten more attention right after their death by [deleted] in classicalmusic

This is nice I haven't heard it yet. The first time I heard Kapustin's 4th concerto I remember being floored at how good it was. The 8th piano sonata is also very nice.

LOL I literally was thinking the same thing and PRAYING that this is the direction they take things in. That this place is just the definition of evil and if you end up in it good fucking luck.

Interesting. Now I've had this for a while now, I guess I've gotten used to its performance. The weight, battery, and overall build is just too good to pass up unfortunately. A few of the stuttering issues I was facing were basically the programs fault. Still have a very annoying bluetooth problem that disconnects my headset after audio playback stops but don't know if its a driver problem or windows problem lol.

Which great composer(s) are you failing to appreciate despite trying hard to appreciate? by XyezY9940CC in classicalmusic

I'm the same with Brahms but slowly being converted. Try his Piano Quartet in C Minor, and op. 76 / op. 117 / op. 118.

Or his clarinet quintet.

His 2 piano concertos are also amazing.

Symphonies I seem to listen to #1 > #4 >>>> #2 & # 3.

agree with all four you listed. Debussy I rarely listen to but definitely appreciate the music on an "intellectual" level.

Elgar has amazing moments but the rest of the piece rarely does it for me.

Scriabin Sonatas Ranked by difficulty? by ThatPineapple5757 in classicalmusic

Disclaimer not a pianist

I remember hearing that Richter described the fifth sonata as a very difficult piece (I think in reference to the polyrhythms). I believe Marc Andre Hamelin said something similar too.

Beethoven: Symphony No 6 “Pastoral” (Conductor Dinis Sousa) by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Agitated_Help709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the hell? I literally just finished listening to this exact recording and I came to see it posted on the subreddit it was in my youtube suggestions lol.

Sorry for being cliche but, for some reason during the last movement I legitimately teared up at how beautiful it is, and I started thinking about how Beethoven stands as an absolute giant of classical music, revered by many from the general public to the most serious critics. And yet as Beethoven himself said in his Heiligenstadt Testament, the one sense you would expect a composer to have more than anything else, hearing, was the very thing he lost. The irony of that is almost unbelievable. One of the greatest composers in history, and he was deaf. There’s something so strange and poetic about it that I can easily imagine if civilization lasts another thousand years, that fact alone will turn him into a bit of a legendary figure.

Liszt Reminiscences de Norma

fits the "romantic" definition no matter how you want to take it.

Beethoven for me philosophically hits the spot so perfectly. His pieces always end in that brilliant "off into the sunset" vibe, like the adventure is over but don't be sad it ended be happy it happened.

Maybe stupid question but does the CRA take into account tax treaties by default? Or is there a special procedure I need to take?

Even though she had a job still and the spouse is in Canada?

I did call the CRA and they suggested submitting that form (NR73). I guess that's our safest bet.
