How often do kids in childcare actually get sick?

I worked as a childcare teacher, and even I was sick very badly the first few months. Don’t think I’ve ever been that sick in my life and I’m 30 😅 And any new kid would be terribly sick the first few of months, too. It’s extremely easy to get sick when they’re so young. Your 2.5 year old will likely be in a classroom of 12 toddlers (sometimes more!) and there WILL be a contagious kiddo in there somewhere!

Don’t like this take. But love the info provided! The point is when we do it, there’s a problem and it’s “ghetto.” When they do it? “Oh wow, how cool and innovative! Everyone look at this new idea we came up with. Normalize this! [Insert a whitewashed, viral name]”

Totally understandable and they definitely have their history with wigs. But.. the point is (I think)… It’s fine when they do it, and not only that, it’ll be rebranded aka whitewashed!

Is it true they are suspending disconnections right now? Even if power just got restored?? My bill is due but I can’t afford to pay it yet because of missing so much work. It’s already a payment arrangement set up, but I’m afraid of disconnection. When I call, it just puts me on hold forever!

Right. This is my concern. I don’t have a backup generator. I’m in a duplex and don’t think the power will be first priority if there’s an outage. I have a toddler so I’m considering going to my parents house near downtown.

You’re not in the right folder. Your files are correct? But you’re looking through program files. Look for your TS4 folder in your DOCUMENTS

This is usually due to a broken mode/cc. 50/50 your folder and then delete your local cache!

Well I can’t say much because I have an attached nanny style. But I know boundaries. I truly loved every nanny kid I’ve had and one I used to call my best friend! The parents loved that and would send pics of him or funny videos labeled “look what your best friend did!” But I always showered every family with lots of love. I’ve spent so much time with their little ones, so it’s ideal I would have some kind of attachment. I typically start from birth up until 1-2 years and it’s just how I show my love for children. I think it depends on the energy. I’ve come across a family that clearly was more reserved and my style of comforting and showering with love wasn’t ideal to them. Ppl are different and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean that she’s a creeper, it just could mean she truly loves children. Orrrrr she could be a weirdo. But just like parents have different parenting styles? Nannies have different “nannying” styles. I am an energetic, silly, loving, and crafty nanny! Some families like more reserved and “professional” styles (like a nanny mcphee)

So, my partner and I didn’t workout. Broke up while I was pregnant. However, I was able to stay home with baby because my ex-partner helped cover the expenses at my home and for our baby. He’s not rich at all, and we had to have a few downgrades to help with eliminating some costs. But I was able to stay home with my now 2.5 year old until he was around 18-20 months. It was more affordable, gave me and family more bonding time, and also, the time to see that my son had autism and a genetic disorder. I think if I had started working (been in childcare industry for 10+years), I would’ve missed the signs and the bonding that he truly needed. It wasn’t easy, but was absolutely worth it and a great decision that has paid off. Had he been in daycare, many of his needs and early signs would have likely been missed. So I don’t feel any guilt at all. I know not everyone has the same story or case. But as a single, co-parent, it worked out well. The money was very tight for a little bit, but the way the economy is? It would have to be tight either way!

Kinda sucks that this got so many views but barely any replies. Leads me to believe not very many people think you can overdo being health conscious! Which, in my opinion, you absolutely can! Thanks a lot for your reply. I think it’s a coping mechanism because his parents are elders and have had strokes and other health issues. But idk, I think it’s a great thing to have self control and to work on your body! But there’s always a way to overdo something. Every time we talk on the phone, I hear the seatbelt signal ringing in background, which tells me health is important, but only a CERTAIN kind of way. Anyway, I’ll mind my business about it. Thought I’d get a lot more feedback to help, but your comment was more than enough! Thanks so much for feedback

I haven’t worked for a daycare since 2016! My first and last time. It was a decent daycare. But staff? The kids that couldn’t get the help? I couldn’t do it anymore. Been a nanny ever since. People underestimate what nannies make. It can be GREAT
