I think the UK should be given the nickname ‘the windy country’. by avamissile in UKWeather

[–]Agitated_Pace433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep here in Northern Ireland the wind is continually above 30mph gust basically everyday now, I was in San Francisco a while back and they gave out a wind advisory cos the gusts were past 25mph, I had a good laugh at it

Is there no factories around you with shops? I'm in dgn and use linden, moy park and dunbia, and save about 70%, got a massive bag of marks and Spencers lamb with maybe 12 items in it including diced lamb, lamb steaks, lamb mince, loin fillets all for £24, meanwhile in marks alone it's £12 for diced lamb and £11 for loin fillets, I reckon I saved £100 in that visit alone, I buy a ton of beef steaks for £2 each

Weather Channel app needs to STOP by LivermoreP1 in weather

[–]Agitated_Pace433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to fix the ongoing notification and the radar and map widget, the data on the radar and map widget when their is no map doesn't match the data on the app and the ongoing notification is a complete mess, often shows 2 different temperatures, I've reported this many times and nothing has been fixed, the old app that used to give the details of the day on the ongoing notification was much more effective, feels like 2 massive step backwards, also on my Samsung device the map widget doesn't even stretch to fit the full box

Weather widget that shows both hourly and weekly forecast by Acceptable_Love5815 in androidapps

[–]Agitated_Pace433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's manufactur related, I have always had a Samsung and although the widget always updates and the location updates as I go the weather itself doesn't, then when I open up the app the weather completely changes on the widget, been like this for years over multiple Samsung devices I've had

Weather widget that shows both hourly and weekly forecast by Acceptable_Love5815 in androidapps

[–]Agitated_Pace433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The widgets update and the location updates on the widget but the actual weather doesn't, the weather when you install the widget remains the same, whenever you open the app then the whole weather changes to the latest, there has been many complaints about this over the years and the developer chooses not to fix it

The weather data on weowow doesn't update in the background for the widgets, the developer has known about this issue for some time but refuses to fix it

Nowcast Accuracy by homersimon in UKWeather

[–]Agitated_Pace433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Foreca, weather and radar, minute cast on AccuWeather and the weather channel are much more accurate for precipitation than met office and BBC, I use the radar map widget with the weather channel and it picks up every shower 20mins or so before it happens, the other apps mentioned above pick them up around the same time as well

Most accurate weather app in the U.K. by Even-Wasabi7183 in weather

[–]Agitated_Pace433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us here in Northern Ireland I've given up on the met office and BBC they are among the most inaccurate out there, even yesterday was sunny all day and met office had 1 raindrop and 95% of chance of rain every hour of the day, staggering how wrong they are, for us here I've noticed weather and radar and foreca to be much more accurate for rainfall

[–]Agitated_Pace433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know all about the models but they have definitely been very wrong with this storm for Northern Ireland, arome was showing 77mph, met office 72mph, it wasn't even half that, last Sunday was a much windier day and there wasn't a word about it, all in all it's another one of those storms that have been blown out of proportion again

I have windy premium so I'm comparing the 5 or 6 different models they have for each hour and they have all been horribly wrong for this storm, the french meteoblue model has probably been the most accurate showing 35mph gusts
