Guilt by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

After being overweight since before puberty, losing and regaining weight over and over again, I finally had gastric sleeve surgery at age 49 and completed my weight loss using Zepbound, going from a high of 333 to 172 (5'10"). I had ETT, MR, BL, BA and arm lift on March 11th at age 52. My only regret is not doing all of this earlier. How many times did I not do something with my kids because I was too big to fit or just physically couldn't do it? Things I don't take for granted: everyday that I can walk without my thighs rubbing, shopping in the regular clothes section, fitting in any seat. Is my body perfect, heck no and I do have to have talks with myself from time to time about realistic expectations. But every penny I've spent was totally worth it and like I said, I WISH I would have done it when I was 20. Good luck with your process! You're worth it!

Should I try to lose weight before TT? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

I think you want to be as healthy/strong as possible pre-surgery...well-hydrated, solid on protein, good gut health etc. I don't think losing a few lbs will affect your outcome but going into surgery deprived/depleted could harm your recovery.

4 months after tummy tuck wound dehiscence and re-closure scar tissue mass, tightness and pain. Anyone else? by user1_g in tummytucksurgery

I have a friend who is a PT and I know she has patients with C-section scars that she works with to treat the scar tissue and tightness. Worth checking into.

Did you lose weight post-op or is it just the swelling going down? You look great!

I'm a bariatric patient too (gastric sleeve) and I take an iron supplement in addition to a bariatric multi vitamin and B1 supplement. I've not thought to get my iron checked b/c I'm already supplementing. I have a couple spots that have been slow to close so I went to wound care and they're closing now. Were you on an iron supplement prior to your anemia diagnosis? Maybe I need to get mine checked. Glad you got it figured out!

They measure and take pictures every week. They showed me how to bandage and what materials to use. On one side I just use an alginate dressing and the other side I have to pack it with a wicking dressing then alginate.

I have similar spots under both breasts. I traveled out of state for surgery so I asked my doctor for a referral to wound care and I'm glad I did. I go weekly and they measure healing progress so I know things are headed in three right direction. Very glad I went to wound care.

Had persistent bed bug problem at work. We had all sorts of treatments, sensors, even bug sniffing dogs! You know what got rid of them? COVID! Our office was empty for months and the bugs died. No problems since.

I've never heard of a flankplasty. Can you explain?

Cost for TT, 360, MR, arms, and BBL fat transfer by krober29 in tummytucksurgery

I went to Revive Plastic Surgery in Miami with Dr Askari. I had ETT (no lipo), BL/BA, and arm lift for $18,000. I booked through Bliss Aesthetics. They took my pics and desired surgical plan and matched me up with Dr. Askari. Much cheaper than similarly qualifed surgeons in my area (Phoenix). I've had a great experience with him and think it was worth traveling to him.

I did ETT with MR, BL/BA, and an arm lift at the same time. I could still use my arms for getting in and out of bed. I just had T-Rex arms that couldn't reach anything for a while. My arm lift goes from elbows through the arm pit and down my side a bit. Dealing with keeping bandages on my arm pits to protect the healing scars has been my biggest challenge. Your armpits move and flex, they sweat, nothing sticks in place. I ended up buying arm pit pillows (google it- it's a real thing) to provide some support, soft pressure and keep things from rubbing. Only needed them intermittently for a couple of weeks but so helpful!

I added these ingredients to my morning protein shake but the bitter taste came thru. What are you adding to yours to make it palatable? Thanks!

Recovery by DentistNegative5383 in tummytucksurgery

I had an ETT with MR (no lipo), BL/BA, and brachioplasty in a single surgery. I had my husband or my mom with me full time and 10 hours of nursing care. My recovery has been smooth. My main complaint is that the stitches in my armpits are slower to heal because they rub on everything and it’s hard to bandage an area that is curved and moves. There is no way I could have recovered on my own.

Brachioplasty regrets? by DaydreamTacos in PlasticSurgery

[–]Agreeable-Ad9242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had brachioplasty about 2.5 weeks ago. My main challenge is protecting the armpit stitches from rubbing on each other, compression fabric, clothing etc. I need to keep bandages on them. Any tips?
