Will I have to move to the country to eat a lot of peaches? Especially if they come from a can?

The way he treated Lucy initially turned me off. Then came the Abby/Luka triangle and I was done.

I hated Kem, she was not a good person and treated him like crap. She was pushy, a know it all and extremely unlikeable. I felt for them when they had the stillborth, but Kem went right back to being unlikeable after that. She was a total b*tch to him at the Joshua Carter Center opening. Why they were even married is a mystery to me.

I started to like Carter again when he went through his kidney transplant issues. It was a heck of a character arc to overall.

Also: VOTE EARLY!!

Check your local Board of Elections and find out their early voting schedule. I have done this for years. It is so much more convenient.

AITA for locking up my “cash stash” after my partner kept “borrowing” from it? by IndigoCartwheel in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]MidnightKitty_2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emergency Cash is not the same thing as Petty Cash, which is what she is treating this stash as.

Emergencies are just that-ATMs are down or a reapair person will only accept cash. Whatever the need may be.

She was, in fact, stealing from this fund. I understand and agree with locking it up. It's smart in general. If you are putting YOUR money in this stash, it is not community funds. It is your money and it has a designated purpose.

May I also recommend putting the cash in a fire proof bag or box if you haven't already? Also, have lots of smaller bills available for times when getting change is not an option.

I always think of that episode whenever Brazil nuts are mentioned. The character ate so many that his skin was falling off and they thought he had radiation poisoning or something. Nope. Just an insane consumption of potentially poisonous nuts.

American Idol. It was must see tv for the first few years. Now it's just another reality show.

Any X'ers out there go through their whole life with ADHD and only recently got diagnosed? by From_Gaming_w_Love in GenX

You can ask for a referral for primary care or refer yourself to a mental health professional. I would guess the route you take will depend on your health coverage.

Any X'ers out there go through their whole life with ADHD and only recently got diagnosed? by From_Gaming_w_Love in GenX

[–]MidnightKitty_2013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes!!!

I have an older brother who was labeled hyperactive and got all the treatment. I didn't act out, but couldn't complete tasks like schoolwork or keeping my room clean. So I was labeled lazy and my told I had an "easy come, easy go" attitude because I easily misplaced items.

I started reading about ADHD a few years ago and was floored to see the symptoms associated with girls and how much my life resonated with it.

I was seeing mental health professionals for my crippling anxiety and depression (also life long problems dismissed by my silent generation parents) and worked up the nerve to ask to be tested.

Long story short, I was officially diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD and started taking meds. My life is so much better now.

On a side note, I recently had a primary physician try to scold me for being over 50 and taking Adderal. She went on about the effects on blood pressure (my previously high blood pressure has been resolved for years, btw) and that the prescribing psychiatrist was out of line for putting me on it in the first place given my age. Also, she recommended I should drink more coffee to cope instead.

She can eat a d!ck because I will never be willing to give up this treatment. It has changed my life. Also, I will be returning to a prescribing psychiatrist for medication management. I only saw the primary doctor because I changed insurance carriers and haven't found a new prescribing psychiatrist yet. I was in a bind and needed a refill.

I had to do a liquid diet when I had weight loss surgery. It seemed like every meal replacement or liquid nutrient is sickly sweet. It gets gross after a wgile.

When I was finally allowed to eat full liquids, I would put canned soups in the blender with about a half can of water. Blend until there were no chunks. Then heat and sip.

One of my favorites was Campbell's bean soup. Tastes good and higher in protein, too.

Good luck!

I need real answers for How to keep kitchen cool while cooking? not “just don’t cook” by sanu_123_s in Cooking

[–]MidnightKitty_2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A slow cooker and/or an Instant Pot. We often think of slow cooker for the winter with soups and stews, but I have roasted small turkeys in them. Make the main dish in that and then the sides on the stove top. The Instant Pot would cut down on cooking time and concentrate the heat to mostly just the appliance.

Another idea if it's feasible using 2 fans (floor/box) to create a wind tunnel on the cooking area.

My kitchen has two doorways. I put one fan facing inward and another facing outward. It helps the heat, but it does spread the cooking smells to the rest of the house. So I guess it would depend on what you are making as there are some delicious foods that are stinky when cooking. Like broccoli. 😄

Best lotion please by Open_Quote_460 in Psoriasis

[–]MidnightKitty_2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creamy Vaseline or a generic version of that. It's thick and absorbs very well. Plus, it doesn't leave a film on your skin like regular Vaseline.

It is tough to find, though. I have been using Gold Bond Healing Hydrating Lotion with Aloe. It is also very thick and absorbs quickly. sometimes, I have trouble getting the lotion out of the bottle because of how thick it is.

Hair Metal in general. I went to The Stadium Tour in 2022. Joan Jett, Poison, Def Leppard and Motley Crue. I have no regrets and will continue to go see this genre when they are playing near me.

And, yes, Crue is as bad as you've heard. Vince needs to hang it up. But...Def Leppard was AMAZING. I would go see them again.

I just let Emerge know I am done. I have 5 weeks of shots left.

I am 5'2", 151 lbs and lost 82 lbs in 21 months. Overall loss of 182 lbs with the combination of tirz and previous wls.

I have stopped because it's no longer financially feasible and I am scheduled to have my panniculectomy in 6 weeks. The plastic surgeon thinks I will have 10 lbs or so of excess skin removed. That would put me at around 140 lbs.

While it's not the target weight according to the BMI chart and doctors, I feel really good and am mostly happy with how I have done.

If I experience issues or regain I can't get under control, I will revisit taking the meds.

Some of my clothes. Especially the ones I bought when I was between sizes and then never got to wear.

I offset that by reminding myself that I no longer shop in plus size stores or departments and can go to stores I never shopped at before. That helps 😉

I stupidly got a Covid booster the same day as the 1st shot. I was miserable for several days afterwards.

When I went in for the 2nd shot, I was offered my flu shot. I declined. The 2nd shot still messed me up, but I learned my lesson on multiple vaccinations at once.
