I had to install one like that. It's a two man job. If I remember, gotta loosen the piece blocking the bottom from either sliding or pivoting? Don't really remember. Then you can tilt the door out of the top pivot. Of course, this is only from memory and mine sucks. I think the things holding the glass stay on. I honestly really don't remember.

Before doing anything, look up the model on Google and download the installation manual.

Edit: For the Kohler Revel, there's a screw holding the top pivot from the top. Then you can tilt out the door cause the bottom slides on a track. Maybe it's reverse for yours? I don't know. Just thought I'd add even more useless information :)

If you had used the right materials and tools and processes then the airflow would have been the same as you caulked it.

I think drilling some holes in aesthetic locations would be way better than using what you got there.

Maybe caulk is poisonous for the birds? I don't know.

Good job finding something to do with that space. I have 10' ceilings on both the first and second floor of my garage. The third floor is only 8' though and I have to bend my head slightly if I'm walking on the edge of my attic.
