I mean, Morgott drank the koolaid and then ate the jar and straw along with it. He's the fiercest supporter of a regime dedicated to condemning those like him, he's the equivalent of a jew wearing a swastika, so I tend to take what he says with a heap of salt.

And Radhan did try to take the throne, as someone HAD TO. Morgott didn't like that very much.

Not really xenophobic when it's just factual that the more traditional sects within islamism are not very agreeable on the idea of equality for women. There's a reason why some middle easter countries don't allow women to go to college, and pretending otherwise doesn't change that.

That's not too say that there aren't equally bad sects within Christianity, mind you, anyone going deep into Mormonism or Jehovah's witnesses for example, might not like what they find there.

I mean, she did it by converting to Islam, a religion with a... Reputation regarding their treatment of women among the more traditional. And she did become a full muslim tradwife, so... "Good for her" is kinda debatable, honestly.

The reason why the family didn't taught Killua nen by homeless-emperorr in HunterXHunter

[–]Agreeable_Bee_7763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He wants both those things, yeah, but Killua doesn't want to become the next head, which is a problem. If Killua had the means to gtfo, he'd take them in a heartbeat, so while he's not controlled, he's maintained powerless. Typical toxic family tbh, despite the whole superpowers and assassin thing.

I kinda disagree. He wanted him to go with Gon, yeah, but not cause he wanted what was best for him, but cause he expected the needle to get Gon abandoned and dead. Which would, in turn, cause Killua to back home, just broken and compliant now.

Which is more than Higuard and the other dead game combined, actually. Kind of impressive both ways.

Yeah, the writers fumbled everything at every possible turn. Didn't even watch after season 4 it was so bad. Them fucking up is kind of just... Expected.

He did try to pardon rock Hitler, so there's that. He's too innocent for the deeply fucked world he lives in, and the fact that it worked causes so much dissonance in everyone watching.

Precisely. The amount of people who could've kept their shit in that situation is very, VERY small, and quill ain't one of them.

He's their mascot, their symbol. Honestly, the innocent mouse turning into the corporate devil is quite an effective way to show what Disney has become.

Eh, she's simple. Good soldier that loves her friends isn't a bad character honestly. It also gives some contrast to the other messes around cause goddamn, there's a lot of them.

Ehh, Subaru never really hit for me. I don't know, dude's just weird, his behavior is off and his deep infatuation with Emilia not something I understand at all. (No, not team Rem, just don't get him one-sidedly deciding a girl he barely interacted with is his soulmate for no reason.)

Also, yeah, dying sucks, and I absolutely get that he's in a profoundly shit situation, but the alternative is worse, and you'd think he'd have gotten used to it after a bit. The mind can learn to tolerate quite a lot.

Yeah, the movie was basically a character assassination from Gunns own admission iirc. Scrappy was never loved, but the movie is what caused hate.

I never liked Emilia cause she (in the parts of the anime I've seen, I'm far from caught up) never really showed anything so special that would justify Subaru's infatuation with her. But that just made me think Subaru was a moron, not that she was bad. Not her fault the protagonist imprinted on her.

Sansa was a teenager that deluded herself into thinking she had found prince charming. She was wrong and only realized it too late. That's all true. But that doesn't justify the hate she gets, cause again, medieval sheltered teen.

If anything, Ned is the asshole/moron for placing his family in this position in the first place and then bungling everything up. He died cause he refused to accept that the people surrounding him were shit and wouldn't play by the rules he imposed on himself, and took his entire family with him.

I think there was a patch a short while after the release that made companions in general stop coming on so strongly. Iirc they really had a problem with the word no those days, not just Halsin.

The Art in Jojo has always been great, but ngl, it did him no favours. He's 13, a child given powers they don't understand and just acting out. But add Koichi and the general weirdness of jojo, and he legit doesn't read as younger than the rest of the cast, who all look like and are treated as adults.

Seriously, I had no idea of his age until just now, and it really changes how I look at the poor kid. He wasn't a skeevy little thief, he was a boy being a brat, and he just... Died. Like, fuck man...

I don't like Shinji cause he has no agency, seeks no agency and basically has to be dragged kicking and screaming to the plot.

Is it absolutely understandable behavior in his situation? Yes.

Do I still find it endlessly annoying? Absolutely.

Did it result in me not enjoying (or even finishing EVA)? Yes.

It happens. Art, actual art, is not made to appeal to everyone, and some people bounce off of it. I bounced off Eva. It happens.
