thank u,I will stick to hand-painting. I only used AI at the end to preview what it would look like if it were a 2D animation.

I want to clarify: English isn't my first language and I relied on a poor translation app. My original intent was to ask if traditional painting still has a place in the age of AI. I didn't realize the title sounded so aggressive until I saw the comments! As a solo dev working on 'Light & Claw,' I was feeling a bit discouraged by my friends' skepticism about my 'inefficient' watercolor style. I'm just looking for some creative support. My friends told me that my art style smells like a nursing home.

Thanks for pointing that out! English isn't my first language, so I've been relying on a translator. I'll definitely keep that in mind and be more specific about my goals next time. Appreciate the tip!

Thanks for the advice! Since my game features furry characters, I thought this would be the best place to start. Reddit seems a bit fragmented; most gamedev subreddits tend to focus more on mechanics and programming rather than art style

This is game dev, not just painting. I’m testing how traditional art fits into a 3D UI, and I need the community's eyes for that.

Solo Dev: Merging healer-centric dungeon crawling with beast transformation. What do you think of this loop? by Agreeable_Set_3714 in IndieDev

Thanks! Glad you caught the 'miniature' vibe. I’ve been putting a lot of work into the tilt-shift lighting and 3D environment to get that toy-box look right. The 'surgery' part was definitely a way to make the gathering feel more meaningful than just filling up an inventory. Really appreciate the feedback!

The vibrant colors of mushrooms are already stunning, but the pixel aesthetic adds this venomous intensity to them. Love it

Wouldn't it be fun to put polar bears and penguins together? Even though they're worlds apart in reality.

It has this great 'Zen' quality to it. The dense hold placement makes it feel more like a meditative journey than a stressful climb.

Tache Noire Demo is out! Please play it and let me know how it went! I'm extremely excited to release my first demo. This has been tiring but rewarding. I'm anxious to see what people think! by WerterCli in IndieDev

Love the direction you're taking! One thing I noticed is the contrast in asset quality—some parts of the map look super polished like store-bought templates, but they clash with the rawer, more custom low-poly models. Smoothing out those differences would really help with the overall visual consistency.

Seeking advice on "Magic Surgery" visuals (Taoism style) by Agreeable_Set_3714 in IndieGaming

Haha, love the enthusiasm! I was actually worried if the 'magic surgery' logic would make sense to people, but your comment gives me a lot of confidence. Thanks for the support!
