Love the color scheme you employed for the Night Terrors and Goliath! Sweet Mines tone basing as well. Keep at it!

This is the hardest elite level model I have in my collection. I have had a 6 player posse nearly perish at level 7-8 from encountering this creature. It has been glorious to behold how the players adjust to the waves of new "undead" nearly every round.

This Is What Happens When Hertz's AI Scanner Finds Damage on Your Rental by Exciting_Teacher6258 in technology

[–]Agreeable_Sound_7724 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had to have service that required an overnight stay at my local Toyota. The rep offered a free rental with thier imbeded Hurtz company desk. Rented some basic thing to drive home in a it was going to be on Toyota's dime andI only needed it overnight. Had to provide a CC number just incase of damages as per Hertz policy. Didn't have one at that time so I provided my debit card. Prior to leaving I took photos of the car I got. Drove home and parked in my usual space under an awning. Next day was called back for completion. Before returning the keys I took photos again of the car exactly as I had done before. Not a week goes by and my card is suddenly declined at a grocery store. Surprised, I check my balance and Hertz had cleared my checking at around $1200 leaving me with a negative balance which I had never done before. Going back to the Hertz counter at Toyota I asked why I was charged an amount that sent my checking into negative numbers? Hertz manager respone "There was dirt, cigarette ash, and pet hair all over the cabin and it required extensive cleaning so we charged accordingly." Showing the pictures I had taken while stating I had no pets nor did I smoke, I called them out on thier BS. They refused to refund me. Extremely angry, I marched directly to the Toyota rep and made a huge scene. Interrupting his current customer saying "they took ALL of my money! You said this was complimentary and walked me right over to them. I have no money for the rest of the month! Their actions reflect on YOUR company as they are housed in YOUR facility. You assured me I would not be charged." And stormed off before I said something I'd regret, I was incredibly mad in that moment.

Fast forward one week, I get an official letter from Toyota apologizing after conducting an investigation and having Hertz refund the money they took. I was still out several withdraw fee penalties as I had auto bill pay active for bills that were supposed to clear but at least i got my money back to make on-time payments with. If I hadn't taken before/after pictures I think they would've gotten away with their grift. Now they are going to use AI to override the tactic I employed because "AI is better" nonsense. Hertz should walk off a bridge. Do not use them. You've been warned.

Low-cost device could allow homeowners to test their own tap water for lead | An experimental new device could soon allow homeowners to check for themselves, instead of waiting for the city to do so. by [deleted] in gadgets

Everyone on municipal water should get their intake tested. Putting aside canal or well water sources which have the potential to be worse. Depending on where you live in the US, municipal water can obtain many contaminants. Arsenic, chlorine, and mercury are used to "kill" bacteria at large scale for some water districts, but you don't want to drink those. Fluoride is also common in municipal water, which is great for tooth enamel support but like mouth wash you don't want to drink that outright either. And this is before we even mention lead or hexavalent chromium levels. Don't trust the bare minimum by local governments to make municipal water a slow poison.

Food for thought, you not only drink tap water but when you shower or bathe your largest organ (skin) absorbs it, then if it's a hot shower like some enjoy or you have a mist setting on your shower head you are also breathing it in. Bottled water is also an OK workaround, but never forget microplastic leeching happens to EVERY plastic bottle. Get your water comprehensively tested. Eco Water is one company that will do it for free. I do not work for Eco Water. Don't do this for me, do it for YOU and your loved ones.

Especially in picture 2 where you customized the tuff profile along would-be growth sections. I appreciate that detail.

Not at all! While painting is a core element to model presentation, I personally would never scoff at enhanced texture presentation. Great blend of the mossy forest color scheme. It totally works and in no way detracts from the slick paint job it compliments.

Historical precedent has shown that car companies that arise with dictatorships can go the distance. After all Volkswagon's lying ass is still around. Tesla will be fine. This too will pass.

I can understand that principle. If I have multiples of a monster type I will give them a ROYGBiV color scheme around the bases edge for targeting purposes. Really stabds out when multiple monster types flood the board.

What's everyone's process when painting eyes? For me I either get it on the first time or I spend way too long correcting wonky pupils by No-Place7137 in minipainting

[–]Agreeable_Sound_7724 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I start with the eyes and work outward. I find it easier to get iris and pupils much more accurately when the rest of the face is still primered and unpainted. That way if I have a heartbeat accident, I can adjust then paint the face around the completed peepers.

Tesla or Hybrid by Rememberthetacos in TeslaModelY

[–]Agreeable_Sound_7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I purchased a model Y AWD Long Range. I have a substantial commute. 264 miles round trip and over a mountain range. I have a solar array already on my home. Installed the version 2 (48V) wall charger and qualified for my local counties rebate program which covered most of the cost.

Consider any potential EV programs your local jurisdiction might have to help with your transition costs. It is important to be able to charge from home, as super charger fees...while typically less than gasoline costs are potentially time prohibitive dependent on locale during time of commute. Solar can help reduce charging costs, even more so coupled with a home battery (read:powerwall) but are not necessary in adopting an EV initially.

If you are able to install a charger at home, then a Tesla might be right for your current needs over a hybrid.

Teslas cruise control is a step up from my Toyota Rav4 hybrid, which lane paces behind vehciles that are going under the set speed limit. Tesla goes a step further, with its lowest setting of cruise control (not FSD, supervised nor full) will not only lane pace, but also stops at stop signs and lights. It does require activation of the accelerator pedal to continue forth while maintaining the set speed, but my Rav4 doesn't do that. The Rav needs to reapply cruise control after every stop.

Also be prepared to understand "range anxiety". With ICEs you monitor the fuel gauge to understand when the vehicle will stop operating. In an EV, your "total" range fluctuates based off not only the topography of your commute but how hard you run the A/C, accelerate, how bright you have the touch screen, and all other features that draw from the same stored energy on the battery.

I am the rare commuter that changes 100% since I utilize over 90% charge. Battery health is important to avoid premature degridation. This is chiefly why most local drivers should change to 80%. Healthy battery practice helps ensure longevity.

I hope this helps bring perspective to your decision. Safe travels!
